PRESS RELEASE: USA NETWORK PREMIERES WINTER SEASON OF LAST SUMMER’S #1 SHOW “ROYAL PAINS” PREMIERING THURSDAY, JANUARY 20 AT 9/8c. USA will premiere the second season continuation of ROYAL PAINS, the best performing freshman year of a cable series ever, on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 9/8c. This show will be the launching pad for USA's new series FAIRLY LEGAL, 10/9c, starring Sarah Shahi. Last season's cliffhanger involved Hank and Evan's father Eddie R. Lawson (Henry Winkler) suffering a heart attack after his sons discovered some startling secrets. ROYAL PAINS stars Mark Feuerstein as Hank Lawson who, after becoming blacklisted from the medical community, revives his career as a "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous in the Hamptons. In addition to treating this select group of the East End elite, Hank also caters to the town’s less fortunate by donating his time at the local clinic. He finds himself walking the line between doing well for himself and doing good for others. The show also stars Paulo Costanzo (“Road Trip"), Reshma Shetty (“30 Rock”) and Jill Flint (“Gossip Girl”). ROYAL PAINS is executive produced by Andrew Lenchewski ("UC: Undercover") and Michael Rauch ("Love Monkey"), as well as Rich Frank (“Comanche Moon”), Paul Frank (“Comanche Moon”) and Jeff Kwatinetz (“Big Momma’s House”) from Prospect Park. Christine Sacani (“Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2”) and John P. Rogers (“Hide & Seek”) also serve as co-executive producers. ROYAL PAINS films entirely in New York (Long Island and Brooklyn) and at locations around The Hamptons. Multiple Golden Globe and Emmy winning actor Henry Winkler continues to recur in his role as Eddie R. Lawson; plus Brooke D'Orsay returns as Paige Collins. Jim Gaffigan ("My Boys"), Julianne Nicholson ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), Gilles Marini ("Sex and the City") and singer John Legend will also guest star this season.

ROYAL PAINS “Mulligan” Season Two Winter Premiere Review, Airing 1/20/2011

ROYAL PAINS follows up on their heart stopping summer finale of doom, where Eddie R. Lawson (Henry Winkler) went down and we don’t know if he will make it. Luckily, Dr. Hank (Mark Feuerstein) was by his side, so hopefully he helped him pull through. Of course, if Eddie makes it, he is going to have a lot of explaining to do. Boris (Campbell Scott) has already made it clear how much he hates his privacy being violated and what Eddie did, well you just don’t come back from that without some scars.

Divya (Reshma Shetty) runs into Adam (Patrick Heusinger) and she simultaneously lies to herself and him. She does clear the air, but is it too late for her to move forward?

Evan (Paulo Costanzo) is given a folder by Boris and he is surprised by what Boris has to say. Boris wants to arrange a meeting with him and of course in Evan’s mind that instantly requires a priority ringtone for Boris. Evan has a very unique way of dealing with things and that is why he is my favorite character on the show. You really never know what he is going to do next. His curiosity got the best of him and he went to meet with a lawyer, to go over things.

There is a golf tournament in town and Jill (Jill Flint) recruited a pro to play on her team, Jack (Tom Cavanagh). Being a pro and all Jack certainly gets some pretty interesting requests regarding balls. I guess it just comes with the territory. Jill is very competitive and only plays to win and not for fun. Hank meets up with Jack and Jill and he quickly questions Jack about something that he has picked up on.

The wacky other couple on the course believe in keeping hydrated and that hydration has led them directly into everyone’s path. Someone needs to pull their golf cart credentials, immediately.

We get to find out a little more about Hank and why he became a doctor. Hank likes problems that he can fix. He convinces Jack to listen to him and give a new treatment a chance. Hank also learns a new word.

I never thought of Jill as someone that would delve into Black Widow territory, but astoundingly the two are connected. She did give Evan one hell of a gift, though. Jill believes she said a few choice things that she apologizes for but in actuality they were welcomed and returned, sort of.

So, what happened to Eddie R. Lawson, tune in on Thursday night to find out. Don’t miss the return of ROYAL PAINS on January 20th at 9 PM EST only on USA NETWORK.
