LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT begins its first episode of season nine without the familiar faces of detectives Goren (VINCENT D’ONOFRIO) and Eames (KATHRYN ERBE) and of course the opening credits reflect that. We really get to see Captain Zoe Callas (MARY ELIZABETH MASTRANTONIO) take charge of her team. Detectives Zach Nichols (JEFF GOLDBLUM) and Serena Stevens (SAFFRON BURROWS) light up the screen together in this jacked up dirty cop of a case entitled, BROAD CHANNEL. This episode stars MARIN HINKLE (TWO AND A HALF MEN), KEVIN CONWAY (THE GOOD WIFE), ADAM TRESE (30 ROCK), LESLIE HENDRIX (NOT INTERESTED), DAVID VADIM (FRINGE), JOSEPH ADAMS (GOSSIP GIRL), JAMES BIBERI (WHITE COLLAR) and MIKE PNIEWSKI (HUNTER). This episode features a seaside payoff, a clean reunion featuring a JOHNNY DEPP looking man and some take-downs. As always a body makes an appearance and Nichols is involved in a snappy welcome to Broad Channel, a wet and cold place in more ways than one. Nike Pegasus’ are more common than one might think. Nichols and Stevens are late to an interview and work on establishing dominance. Jamaica is a swell place to vacation at. Is Major Case Squad blundering around or is it just a taxing situation? Coordinating takes a lot of effort.
This case brings up a few questions like, Can one exist on a diet of methadone and soup and Are all dead cops hero cops? You be the judge! Investigations persist into one stop shops and technicalities are broken. Nichols doesn’t take the informing bait. The wiring truth comes out and another body is added to the total. Nichols past is reflected and stink is written all over it. A mother’s love brings something more to the table. Food can help fight depression while,” the dead speak no evil.” Someone “did it without doing it”, yet again. Captain Ross would have been proud of his “sporty” team. The ending just sails away! Watch LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT on Tuesday night at 10 PM EST on USA Network to watch this crime unravel.
