TERRIERS FX PRESS RELEASE: Terriers from Creator/Executive Producer Ted Griffin (Ocean’s Eleven, Matchstick Men) and Executive Producer Shawn Ryan (The Shield), is a comedic drama starring Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve) and Michael Raymond-James (True Blood). It centers on “Hank Dolworth” (Logue), an ex-cop, who partners with his best friend “Britt Pollack” (Raymond-James) in an unlicensed private investigation business. Comedic, edgy, original, a show about high stakes in the face of low expectations, Terriers explores what it’s like in today's America to be “too small to fail.” Co-stars include Laura Allen (Dirt) as “Katie,” Britt’s girlfriend; Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break) as “Detective Mark Gustafson,” former colleague of Hank; and Jamie Denbo (Weeds) as “Maggie Lefferts,” Hank’s attorney. Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow, The Shield) directed the pilot episode. Terriers is produced by Fox 21.
TERRIERS “AGUA CALIENTE” Eighth Episode Review, Airing 10/27/2010
TERRIERS Wednesday nights on FX! When Britt goes missing Hank reunites with his old partner to get him out of “Agua Caliente”. This week’s episode of TERRIERS features a glimpse into the past as Hank (Donal Logue) and Britt (Michael Raymond-James) team up with their former partners. “Agua Caliente” is written by Phoef Sutton and John Worley and is directed by John Dahl.
Hank and Britt show off their golf skills while waiting to deliver some unwanted news or it could be the conclusion of an “urban dance competition” depending on the exact phrase uttered. Britt ends up going missing and Hank is concerned. Hank visits his lawyer Maggie (Jamie Denbo) and it is established that knocking is a dying art as they find themselves exchanging uncomfortable glances in an awkward moment. Hank visits his old partner Detective Gustafson (Rockmond Dunbar) for some assistance on dealing with Britt’s disappearance. Gustafson doesn’t think it is anything to worry about but as more evidence begins to surface he dives right in with Hank. It was great to get to see a little Gustafson and Dolworth action but nothing compares to our trusty team of Hank and Britt.
Poor Britt, missing and having to get his hands dirty but at least his partner practiced safe hiding. Britt’s sought after skills help him stay sharp and keep what is important in focus. Britt gets down and dirty and gets to take out some frustration on a very deserving target.
Katie (Laura Allen) is still distraught over the tragic mistake that she made with her professor. She has been avoiding her professor at school and comes home to Winston (Buster) not behaving like his adorable mellow self. I was happy to see Winston come back for a guest spot.
Hank’s quick thinking and agility shine in this episode. Hank reminds us why we love him when he makes sure that his travel companion understands where he is coming from and the consequences involved when things don’t go accordingly. Both Britt and Hank demonstrate their devotion to the ones they love. This episode really portrays the strength of Hank and Britt’s bond and what they will do to protect each other physically and emotionally. Don’t miss TERRIERS on Wednesday nights at 10 EST only on FX!
