TERRIERS FX PRESS RELEASE: Terriers from Creator/Executive Producer Ted Griffin (Ocean’s Eleven, Matchstick Men) and Executive Producer Shawn Ryan (The Shield), is a comedic drama starring Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve) and Michael Raymond-James (True Blood). It centers on “Hank Dolworth” (Logue), an ex-cop, who partners with his best friend “Britt Pollack” (Raymond-James) in an unlicensed private investigation business. Comedic, edgy, original, a show about high stakes in the face of low expectations, Terriers explores what it’s like in today's America to be “too small to fail.” Co-stars include Laura Allen (Dirt) as “Katie,” Britt’s girlfriend; Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break) as “Detective Mark Gustafson,” former colleague of Hank; and Jamie Denbo (Weeds) as “Maggie Lefferts,” Hank’s attorney. Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow, The Shield) directed the pilot episode. Terriers is produced by Fox 21.

TERRIERS “MANIFEST DESTINY” Fifth Episode Review, Airing 10/6/2010

Last week Hank and Britt took us into their “Fustercluck” of a world and thankfully we still have not left. TERRIERS presents “Manifest Destiny” which is written by Leslye Headland and directed by Rian Johnson. In the last episode, we finally got to meet Hank’s (Donal Logue) mystery ceiling dweller, his sister Steph (Karina Logue). Karina is the real-life sister of Donal so I’m sure playing Hank’s on-screen sister comes naturally to her. We get to learn more about Steph as the season progresses. Steph spends some time with Gretchen (Kimberly Quinn) and Jason (Loren Dean) and possibly shoots some perfume ads while she is there.

As Hank is desperately trying to get in touch with Maggie (Jamie Denbo), Britt (Michael Raymond-James) is being questioned by Detective Gustafson (Rockmond Dunbar) about Lindus’ kidnapping. Hank gets involved and dishes Gustafson some information which makes him question why they “would do something so stupid.” They have to clear everything up or Gustafson will not be with them for the long haul.

Steph is turning out to be great to have around and she is eager to offer her assistance but she does come with a very special set of rules that you must follow. They share an inspiring teacher story that just may help them out of a pickle. Hank finally admits that, “this thing is too big for us” but they push through anyway because that is what they do. That just demonstrates what an unstoppable force Hank and Britt are. Even though things didn’t get as explosive as they were expecting, it was still an interesting moment.

Hank and Britt get the ball rolling and end up being led to an office where representation is pressed upon them. Hank gives us an example of some of the “stupidest shit that he has ever seen as a cop.” The boys finally track down Maggie and get to meet a new member of the family. Britt inflames our senses just thinking about what Hank’s bedroom smells like. Apparently, “stale Oreos” do not make the most appropriate impression.

As the episode progresses, some very pertinent information comes about but it is double sided. Back at Gretchen’s house, Hank awkwardly confesses some of his views to Gretchen but she doesn’t know how to help him. This is one show that I really look forward to every week and I know you do, too so don’t miss TERRIERS on Wednesday night at 10 PM EST on FX!
