TERRIERS FX PRESS RELEASE: Terriers from Creator/Executive Producer Ted Griffin (Ocean’s Eleven, Matchstick Men) and Executive Producer Shawn Ryan (The Shield), is a comedic drama starring Donal Logue (The Tao of Steve) and Michael Raymond-James (True Blood). It centers on “Hank Dolworth” (Logue), an ex-cop, who partners with his best friend “Britt Pollack” (Raymond-James) in an unlicensed private investigation business. Comedic, edgy, original, a show about high stakes in the face of low expectations, Terriers explores what it’s like in today's America to be “too small to fail.” Co-stars include Laura Allen (Dirt) as “Katie,” Britt’s girlfriend; Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break) as “Detective Mark Gustafson,” former colleague of Hank; and Jamie Denbo (Weeds) as “Maggie Lefferts,” Hank’s attorney. Craig Brewer (Hustle and Flow, The Shield) directed the pilot episode. Terriers is produced by Fox 21.
TERRIERS “Sins of the Past” Episode 11 Review, Airing 11/17/2010
TERRIERS “Sins of the Past” takes us back to when Britt and Hank first met and introduces us to the case that along with his coffee creamer, helped end Hank’s career in law enforcement. The episode is written by Tim Minear and directed by Tucker Gates.
Hank (Donal Logue) gives some advice to Britt (Michael Raymond-James) about Katie (Laura Allen) and there is another man involved, a very special man…Winston (Buster). When things go array in the world of love it is always the innocent parties that pay the ultimate price. Will Britt ever be able to forgive Katie and more importantly, will Katie ever be able to forgive herself? Britt is going to be spending some quality time with Hank until things get sorted out.
One very strong highlight of this episode is the return of Detective Gustafson (Rockmond Dunbar). I have missed him since he has not been in the last couple of episodes, so it was a nice welcome back. We also get to see the past versions of Gustafson, Britt and Hank and boy, I have to tell you these guys just don’t age! That is what you get when you watch TERRIERS, a cast that always looks spectacular! The only complaint that I have ever gotten from my readers about TERRIERS is that all the women in the show are blonde and they want more hair color diversity. I think they have forgotten about Steph (Karina Logue), she was not blonde and in fact, has the most gorgeous red hair I have ever seen. Everyone loves the show and if the only complaint is about hair color, I call that a win for TERRIERS!
Laura Ross (Alison Elliot) is back since she decided to skip the honeymoon. She appears at Hank’s house to talk to him about the rape case that got him fired. She has some answers that may help put things into perspective. This episode really gives you a nice background on Hank and Britt and then establishes a sweet, “When Hank Met Britt” moment that I will not ruin for you so make sure you watch it.
Billy Whitman (Chris William Martin) is the person that Hank believes is the rapist and he is betting his long manhood on it. Hank has a personal connection to Billy and it isn’t making anything easier. Billy’s parents are rich and previously, when he caused trouble it was replaced by new architecture. When Hank’s actions are questioned, Gustafson assures him, “I got it, man!”
Britt is looking for some answers and goes on a quest to find “The Wolfman” but he finds himself in another familiar situation. Britt is back where he started and Hank finishes what he began with Gustafson.
In this episode, Hank is forced to take a look inside of his soul and see how he was just a co-pilot and now he has taken over the reins and will right what was wrong. I really enjoyed this episode and being able to get a history lessons on the characters that I love so much was an added bonus. Don’t miss this pinnacle episode of TERRIERS tonight at 10 PM EST only on FX!
