LOUIE “Pregnant” Season 2 Premiere Advance Review, Airing 6/23/2011

LOUIE is a refreshing reminder that awkwardness never goes out of fashion.  Louis C.K. brings his comedy series back for a second season of real-life lessons in love, sex and death.  I have always been a fan of Louis C.K., so I am more than happy to spend my summer with LOUIE.  LOUIE is not your average comedy series, it is so much more. Each episode is a cinematic adventure full of charm, wit, wise observations and mishaps.  I would recommend the show to anyone that is looking for something to spice up their television viewing experience.  LOUIE and WILFRED are the perfect partners in crime to close out your Thursday nights on FX. “Pregnant” – Louie gets a visit from one of his sisters.  Written and directed by Louis C.K.

One of the things that I adore about LOUIE is the artistic direction.  It may only be a single-camera show but it is filmed with so much heart that it adds a fullness and dimension that rivals shows with superior budgets.  Louis C.K. does an incredible job in every aspect of the show which includes writing, directing, producing, editing, acting and so much more.

The show opens with Louie assisting his daughter while being rewarded with insults.Louie raises her insults with a loving gesture that gets the ball rolling in the laugh department. Louie later gets enjoyment schooling her in the art of fairness, one of life’s many lessons brought to you by Louie.

Louie’s very pregnant sister, Gretchen (Rusty Schwimmer) stops by for a visit.  Gretchen colorfully displays her affection for Louie’s ex-wife and the mother of his children.  In his standup-up section, Louie offers the best advice about divorce and why sometimes it is the “humane thing to do”.

Gretchen has an unexpected issue but luckily, a meeting of the minds is about to occur and Louie’s introverted apartment living is about to change forever.  He meets Pedro (Yul Vazquez) and Peter (Roderick Hill) and they have a plan.  You will have to watch LOUIE to see how their plan unfolds and what becomes of this uncertain situation.

From what I have seen so far, this season of LOUIE is going to be sensational.  As I enjoyed the premiere, next week’s episode is my favorite so come back for your weekly injection of LOUIE.  You will not be disappointed.  Watch the Season Two Premiere of LOUIE tonight at 10:30 EST following the Series Premiere of WILFRED only on FX.
