SONS OF ANARCHY FX OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: FX's original series, Sons of Anarchy, is an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club's (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that, Charming. The MC must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, and overzealous law officers. Behind the MC's familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegally thriving arms business. The seduction of money, power, and blood. Jackson ‘Jax' Teller (Charlie Hunnam) is the MC's vice-president who is tested by his growing apprehension for its lawlessness, Gemma Teller Morrow (Katey Sagal) is Jax's force-of-nature mother, and Clarence ‘Clay' Morrow (Ron Perlman) is Jax's stepfather and MC president. The triangle of Mother, Son, and Stepfather will ultimately reveal the dark secrets in this family's past and the lengths they will go to protect their sins. This season begins with SAMCRO feeling powerless over Abel's kidnapping, especially Jax, whose grief sends him into deeper turmoil over his future with the club. The search for Abel sends our guys to Ireland, where Jax faces not only the Irish Republican Army, but an untold personal history as well. Meanwhile, still on the lam, Gemma is hit with some unexpected news and risks her freedom to deal with it.
“HOME” SONS OF ANARCHY Season 3 Episode Review, Airing 9/28/2010
SONS OF ANARCHY is killing it in the ratings department this season and it is easy to see why. The entire cast is just beaming this season. Katey Sagal as Gemma brought me to tears in the episode, “Home” that you will see Tuesday. Gemma is such a strong character that you sometimes forget everything that she has been through. Katey Sagal even provides some music for the episode. If you don’t know Katey is an amazing singer and this is not the first time that she lent her voice to the series.
vLast week Gemma (Katey Sagal) and Tara (Maggie Siff) got themselves into a bit of a pickle but good old Tig (Kim Coates) was there to help bail them out. Tig called his shady friend, Bachman (Stephen King) to perform some very special magic. All that help and Tig is still referred to as a “douchebag”. I guess he can’t even cover up a murder right, oh wait…we already know that. At least Tig is providing the comic relief so far this season.
Jimmy (Titus Welliver) has words with Father Kellan Ashby (James Cosmo) and they seem to have a different opinion on how to handle things. Jimmy puts Jax (Charlie Hunnam) in touch with a brother for a confirmation. Jax is not content but he licks his wounds and rides on.
Happy (David Labrava) needs help with a pharmaceutical situation so the club steps in and takes care of it. They run into some unfortunate individuals when they get to the house but luckily “the good guys” are there to take care of it. Piney (William Lucking) gets a little something extra for all his troubles.
Jax and Clay (Ron Perlman) make it to Gemma’s dad’s (Hal Holbrook) house and it is a happy reunion. Tig wants to introduce Clay to some of grandma’s goodies. Gemma tells Tara what needs to be done while Tara does her best to hold back. Jax really missed his “lovely ladies” and he discusses with Tara what needs to go down. Gemma is having a really hard time letting go.
“Home” is another beautiful episode of SONS OF ANARCHY and yet another reaffirmation of why we love this show so much. “Home” was written by Kurt Sutter and Liz Sagal. It was directed by Guy Ferland. Watch it Tuesday night at 10 PM EST only on FX!
