THE BLIND SIDE an interview with actor PATRICK G. KEENAN November 2009 By Lena Lamoray PATRICK G. KEENAN is starring opposite SANDRA BULLOCK, KATHY BATES and TIM McGRAW in the new film from director and writer JOHN LEE HANCOCK, THE BLIND SIDE. The movie is based on the true story of American football player MICHAEL OHER played by QUINTON AARON. PATRICK is no stranger to the movie business and has performed a bit of everything making him extraordinarily versatile and in demand. He has starred in DARK REMAINS, THE PATRIOT and DOGS OF CHINATOWN to name just a few. I got a chance to talk to PATRICK about his role in THE BLIND SIDE and what he is taking on in the near future and here is what he had to say: Lena: What was it like working with SANDRA BULLOCK on the movie The Blind Side? PATRICK G. KEENAN: She was truly awesome! Down to earth, approachable with a great sense of humor. And she still maintained a highly professional manner at the same time. One of the best experiences I've ever had in the business. And I'd be remiss if I didn't add that the whole crew was amazing and especially the director, John Lee Hancock.
Lena: Did you think you had the line waiting experience to qualify you for the role of Man in CPS line or did you become a recurring sidler at various agencies just for some practice? PATRICK G. KEENAN: Apparently I've spent most of my life preparing for this role as I'm always waiting and making faces at people. Ha, ha.
Lena: Is it strange to have your face plastered everywhere? PATRICK G. KEENAN: It is pretty strange. Luckily I didn't see the trailer in the theater or on the commercials. What's really odd is having people email me who I haven't heard from in 20 years who saw the trailer. I mean, how did they get my email?
Lena: What is next for you? Perhaps a new leading man role? PATRICK G. KEENAN: I will be playing the main evil character in a film named The Devil's Crossing. He's a demonic servant of Satan so it should be quite a bit of fun. We begin shooting in December.
