LIVE PHOTOS and REVIEW by LENA LAMORAY

Hailing from New York, a band of oddities called BOY CRISIS opened up the night.  When I heard the name I thought that it would be a band of teenage girls but my how I was wrong.  It was a band of experienced men in spandex pants and stick on flowers.   Their music was as eclectic as their stage attire and infused many styles such as pop, punk, rock, etc.  I could not pigeon hole them into just one type of music.  The audience seemed to enjoy them and the girls in the front screamed when some clothing was removed.   They should do great on tour with KATY PERRY as long as a swarm of bees do not come by.  Those big flower costumes could be lethal!  All in all they were an interesting band and if you are going to see KATY PERRY live get there early so you don’t miss BOY CRISIS.

KATY PERRY played to a packed house at the AGGANIS ARENA in BOSTON, MA.  KATY PERRY’S stage set-up consisted of giant pink flamingos, a glitter fruit microphone stand, a mailbox, a white picket fence and a ton of glitter and pink, DIVINE would have been very pleased.  The band entered outfitted in matching pink satin suits to CALIFONIA GIRLS by the BEACH BOYS playing and then when the song ended the show began with KATY PERRY taking the stage.    I’ve never heard so many little girls scream that loud for anyone.  KATY came out jumping around and off of the light box platforms.  I love performers with energy and attitude.  This was my first time seeing her live and I have to say she gave a first-rate performance.   She can write hits and working with masterminds like DAVE STEWART and DESMOND CHILD certainly adds that extra something.  Some song favorites of the night were; WAKING UP IN VEGAS, HOT N COLD and I KISSED A GIRL.  Pick up KATY PERRY’s debut album, ONE OF THE BOYS and catch a live show!
