Artist: WEDNESDAY
13
Title: SKELETONS
Release Date: MAY 2008
Writer: Leslie Ann
Wednesday 13's third Solo album entitled "Skeletons" is what
he refers to as his most personal album to date. He has been recording
music since the early 90's, But never anything like this. Instead of
singing about ghouls and goblins alone, Wednesday 13 has creatively
collaborated his past memories, with his love for classic horror films.
The first track "Scream Baby Scream" is extremely catchy.
A song that is sure to keep you tapping your foot and singing along
even as the song comes to an end.
I found "From Here To The Hearse" to be my favorite song.
It had me pushing my replay button on multiple occasions. I have to
admit, there were two tracks that I felt weren't as good as the rest
of the album. I wasn't too fond of "Dead Carolina", or "With
Friends Like These". They just seemed to drag on and on and I
didn't find myself enjoying them as much.
Overall, I have to say that "Skeletons" is one of the best
albums I have heard in a long while. Sure, It took me two to three
listens to fully appreciate his creativity on this album. But all good
albums take a while to fully understand. A good artist is one who doesn't
make an album full of one hit wonders or a song they expect to make
the billboards #1. A good artist is an artist who writes what they
love, and all their music comes directly from the heart. I feel as
though Wednesday 13 has proven himself as a respectable artist.
I suggest this album to anyone who is open minded. The type of individual
that is willing to give a cd more than one listen. If you liked "Transylvania
90210",and "Fang Bang" you are sure to appreciate wednesday
13's new album "Skeletons."
