 FOX has renewed FRINGE, the critically acclaimed thrilling drama, for a third season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.

 “FRINGE tapped into a deep creative mine this year that built momentum throughout the season and helped give us our first real foothold on TV’s most competitive night,” said Reilly. “The entire FRINGE team – from the producers and writers to the cast and crew – has taken smart storytelling and top production quality to a whole new level. The rest of this season is mind-blowing, and we can’t wait to get started on the third installment of this amazing journey.”

 This season, FRINGE improved FOX’s performance in the time period (Thursdays, 9:00-10:00 PM) by 11% among Adults 18-49 and by 33% in Total Viewers. In fact, together with its BONES lead-in, FRINGE helped boost FOX’s Thursday average rating during the fall among Adults 18-49 by 52%.

 “We could not be more excited to continue the wild ride of FRINGE. We are grateful to FOX, and our viewers, for allowing this fun, mind-bending adventure to go on,” said FRINGE co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams.

 Series showrunners and executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman added, “This early renewal comes at a great time and adds to the cast and crew’s energy and excitement as we head into production on this season’s revealing final two episodes. We have so many stories to tell, so this is awesome that we have another season to explore the worlds of FRINGE.”

 The second season of FRINGE resumes with eight all-new and uninterrupted episodes beginning Thursday, April 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. In “Peter,” the spring premiere episode, Walter (John Noble) flashes back to 1985 while explaining Peter’s (Joshua Jackson) otherworldly origins to Olivia (Anna Torv). Also, Peter’s mother (guest star Orla Brady) is introduced and details of the neighboring world reaffirm that there is more than one of everything.

Third Album, “Fever” Coming April 27^th

 New York, NY- Bullet For My Valentine have announced dates for their US headline tour in support of the band’s upcoming third release, FEVER, in stores April 27th and featuring the blistering single “Your Betrayal” which was the #1 most added track on alternative radio. This marks the bands first trip back to American soil since playing the main stage at The Mayhem Festival last summer.

The tour starts in Worcester, MA on April 30th at the Palladium and concludes on May 30th in Detroit, MI at the Fillmore. Joining Bullet For My Valentine on tour will be Chiodos and Airbourne.  THE GOOD GUYS, the new action-comedy from Matt Nix (“Burn Notice”), will have a special preview Wednesday, May 19 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) before AMERICAN IDOL and will then make its series premiere Monday, June 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The series is an action-packed and comedic look at what happens when a washed-up, old-school cop (Bradley Whitford, “The West Wing”) and a by-the-book, modern-day detective (Colin Hanks, “Mad Men”) try to expose the big picture of small crime.

 As previously announced, television’s hottest dance series, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, swings into summer with a two-hour premiere Thursday, May 27 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Hosted by Cat Deeley, the hit dance competition series will inspire and amaze viewers as dancers skilled in styles ranging from hip-hop to ballroom compete to be named America’s Favorite Dancer.  Three outstanding nights of AMERICAN IDOL propelled FOX to No. 1 for the week among Adults 18-49. Despite tough competition including ABC’s season finale of The Bachelor and The 82^nd Annual Academy Awards, FOX delivered a 4.1/11 for the week and outperformed its next highest-rated competitor by +8%.  Season to date, FOX continues to rank No. 1 among the broadcast networks this season. 

 On Tuesday, the Top 10 boys competed on AMERICAN IDOL and posted an 8.6/22 among Adults 18-49, leading FOX to a nightly win among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos. 

• FOX showed a significant advantage over the No. 2 network of the night, dominating by +161% among Adults 18-49, +196% among Adults 18-34, +281% among Teens and +48% in Total Viewers.

FOX’s special Thursday AMERICAN IDOL results show posted a 6.5/19 and dominated the 8p hour showing an advantage of +71% over the next highest-rated network among Adults 18-49 (6.5/19 vs. 3.8/11 for CBS), +93% among Adults 18-34 (5.2/17 vs. 2.7/9 for NBC), +64% among Teens (4.1/15 vs. 2.5/9 for CBS) and +53% among Total Viewers (19.4 vs. 12.7 Mil. for CBS).  FOX won the hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.

So far this season, AMERICAN IDOL’s average is on par with the same weeks last year with Most Current ratings vs. comparable Most Current, showing 94% retention among Adults 18-49 (9.5/24 vs. 10.1/25), 95% among Adults 18-34 (8.2/24 vs. 8.6/24), 97% among Teens (7.1/23 vs. 7.3/23) and 95% in Total Viewers (25.4 vs. 26.6 Mil.)

Compared to the previous week’s Thursday telecast, AMERICAN IDOL held 100% of its audience among Adults 18-49 (6.5/19 vs. 6.5/17) and is up +8% among Total Viewers (19.4 vs. 18.0 Mil.)

A special KITCHEN NIGHTMARES at 9p delivered a 3.3/9 among Adults 18-49 and posted its second highest number of Total Viewers ever.  KITCHEN NIGHTMARES ranked No. 4 in the hour among Adults 18-49, No. 3 among Adults 18-34 and tied for No. 2 among Teens.

Three local skateboard shops will compile approximately the top 30 qualifiers of all ages in the region who will pay $20 to enter the open competition – there are no age group requirements in this competition. Registration includes one general admission ticket to the event plus competitor wristbands and Retaks Competitor gift bag. Skaters younger than 18 years old will receive one pass for their parent/guardian who will be required to sign a liability waiver on site. Competition is open to all amateur skateboarders. Those who’d like to participate can contact Pharmacy Board Shop, 4845 S. Fort Apache Road in Summerlin (228-4755); Industrial Ride Shop inside the Galleria at Sunset mall in Henderson (435-0600) or the Area 702 Skatepark, 3040 Simmons St., suite #104, in North Las Vegas (870-7588). Spaces are limited.

 After initial competition, five individual sessions will determine the top five competitors, who will be judged solely on their at least 4-minute individual run. Open jam practice will take place in the morning until the first Retaks Concert Band takes the stage. Then, each of the five competitors will have approximately 20 minutes to practice their individual runs before final competition begins. The contest will be judged by three independent or professional skaters to be announced at a later time.

 Local lifestyle backpack company Retaks – the word “skater” inscribed backwards – created the Expressions Tour three years ago and kicks off the 2010 event at Extreme Thing. Retaks started in 2005 when a father and his two sons scribbled an idea on the back of an airline flight barf bag and has since designed backpacks to suit the lifestyle of the extreme sports enthusiast. The tour presents the best of local skate and BMX riders in amateur competitions. This year the company added a music component to the tour with a five-band concert stage next to the mini ramp.

 Extreme Thing Sports and Music Festival, now in its 15^th year, welcomes The Used, Five Finger Death Punch, Escape the Fate, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Story of the Year and The Bled on the Verizon Wireless main stage with Never Shout Never, The Cab, Hey Monday, Every Avenue, The Summer Set, Call The Cops and The Ready Set taking the newly formed AP (Alternative Press) Stage. This will be the first year Extreme Thing will feature four stages, with the third being the XPOZ Local Band Stage. Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 day of the show. A combo package also is available for $35 and includes a ticket, commemorative event T-shirt and artist-signed event poster.

 Only a personal “unopened” bottle of water can be brought into the festival along with still cameras and sunscreen. There will be plenty of ATMs on site this year with an array of food vendors available, from barbecue to Thai, along with beverages. No alcohol will be sold. No animals, coolers, weapons or chairs are permitted. No re-entry will be permitted.

 LOS ANGELES, Mar. 8 – The Melvins release The Bride Screamed Murder on June 1 via Ipecac Recordings with a U.S. tour launching the same day in San Diego and including a stop at the Bonnaroo Festival.   

 The Bride Screamed Murder is the third release featuring Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Big Businesses’ Coady Willis and Jared Warren.  While the Melvins recently celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary, the latest incarnation debuted with the highly-praised (A) Senile Animal (2006) and continued with Nude With Boots (2008).

Brooklyn’s Ninjasonik are taking their self-sustained, militant buzz off the streets and translating it onto wax for their long awaited debut album this spring. Beginning as an art concept record and a time capsule of their almost 18 months together, “Art School Girls” features guest appearances from Matt and Kim, Team Robespierre, and Vivian Girls. It’s obviously not the normal collaborative line-up for what many could misconstrue as a hip-hop record, but a “cultural fusion” says emcee Telli. “I don’t think sound has been merged like what we do. I’m a rapper, Jah’s a punk, and Teenwolf’s a musicologist.” Ninjasonik is unleashing this raw and uncut synthesis of styles with their “Art School Girls” full length VIA Green Owl / Chief Records due April 20th, 2010. Green Owl is a label that is ahead of the game in itself by respecting the planet both economically and environmentally through sustainable technology, news, and information. 



At the heart of this all is the live show where Ninjasonik truly demonstrate an aerobic performance that leaves audiences fully engaged. The Brooklyn trio splashed onto the stage and established themselves as next generation of live hip hop by creating a synergy between their rhymes and a newly evolved performance art in the making. Having shared the stage with such disparate artists as Spank Rock, Dan Deacon, Japanther, Afrika Bambataa, The Cool Kids and Murs, Ninjasonik has melded enough sounds to bring in fans across all genres. 



At it’s most fundamental, Telli is right about what separates and unites the members of Ninjasonik. DJ Teenwolf received his own buzz as part of the Sound Advice DJ collective, and as a solo remixer. Jah Jah was a DJ of his own accord, spinning at some of the first Treble & Bass parties in Baltimore, and later rolling deep with famous skaters and graffiti artists like Mark Gonzales and Ben Robey. And since childhood, Telli was banging out rhymes over lunch table beats, before going on to record with Raheim and a few Wu-Tang associates before being burned out by the game (and then re-inspired by his Ninjasonik cohorts).



There is no definition for a record so eclectic yet thematic. “Ha Ha Ha” (featuring Team Robespierre) may have the most traditional hip-hop structure, with punchline-packed verses and an innocuous hook. “Art School Girls” throbs with a powerfully fast bassline and Jah Jah’s charmingly off-key crooning.

Season Eight Finalists Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud to Perform Next Week

 Semifinalists Michelle Delamor, John Park, Jermaine Sellers and Haeley Vaughn were eliminated tonight on AMERICAN IDOL after they received the fewest of America’s more than 27 million votes. On Tuesday and Wednesday’s live performance shows, the Top 20 sang Top 10 Hits from the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and Delamor, 22, from Miami, FL, sang “With Arms Wide Open”; Park, 21, of Northbrook, IL, sang “Gravity”; Sellers, 27, from Joliet, IL, sang “What’s Going On”; and Vaughn, 16, from Fort Collins, CO, sang “The Climb.”

 Also on tonight’s show, AMERICAN IDOL Season Eight finalist Danny Gokey performed his new single, “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.”

 Next week, the eight female semifinalists (Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lacey Brown, Katelyn Epperly, Siobhan Magnus, Paige Miles, Lilly Scott and Katie Stevens) will take the stage once again, singing LIVE for America on Tuesday, March 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Californian 6 piece Crystal Antlers (Damian Edwards – percussion, Jonny Bell – vocals/bass, Andrew King

as part of a larger 45 day UK and European headline tour. They will also be hitting SXSW prior to their European trek.

 Debut A Clip Of Their First Single “You Stupid Girl”

 Framing Hanley, the Nashville, TN rock band that burst onto the alternative rock scene last year behind The Moment - selling over 800,000 tracks, 110,000 albums and playing over 300 shows – is back in a big way for 2010. The band is set to release their sophomore album, A Promise To Burn, May 25th via Silent Majority Group/ILG. The double disc package includes a 30 minute DVD, featuring exclusive behind the scenes footage and interviews, shot in HD, during the recording process of A Promise To Burn. The album was produced at Soundmine Studios in Stroudsburg, PA with Brett Hestla, Greg Archilla and Dan Malsch.

 San Diego, CA – March 3rd 2010.  After starting its new record label 9 months ago, 15 year old music apparel company Dirtbag Music, Inc. is finding success where others have failed. Breaking through at rock radio is Seasons After.  Their first single “Cry Little Sister” is #22 and climbing on the BDS active rock chart, putting Dirtbag Music on the map. Hole to perform at SPIN party at SXSW – further dates to be announced

        (March 3, 2010 – New York, NY)  “Courtney Love has found a home,” proclaimed www.SPIN.com, the magazine’s website, referring to NOBODY’S DAUGHTER, the brand new album by Hole – which will be released April 27^th on Mercury Records.   

The first single pick from NOBODY’S DAUGHTER is “Skinny Little Bitch,” which goes to radio today, in advance of the March 8^th impact date at all Rock Radio formats. In addition,  the song is now available to download on the bands website www.NobodysDaughter.com for 24 hours.  “Skinny Little Bitch” will be available at all digital platforms on March 16^th.

        Along with Courtney, the new line-up of Hole includes 23-year-old British guitarist Micko Larkin (formerly of London indie rockers Larrikin Love), bassist Shawn Dailey (of Rock Kills Kid), and drummer Stuart Fisher.  (Jack Irons, formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, played drums on the album.)  Hole recently played a brief series of dates in February at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, then in Milan and Amsterdam.  Hole is scheduled to perform at the SPIN party at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference in March, with further tour dates TBA.

 Tour With The Morning Benders Starts 3/10 in Philadelphia * Playing SXSW

Weeks after finishing F O R T R E S S, the follow up to their well received debut Tell It To the Volcano, Miniature Tigers will be hitting the road over the next two months supporting The Morning Benders. F O R T R E S S will be the bands second full length for Modern Art Records who recently partnered with Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group. 

 Chris Chu, lead singer of The Morning Benders co-produced the effort over a three week span in January at Dreamland Studios in Woodstock, NY. The upcoming 10 song album will be released this summer with the single “Gold Skull” featuring Neon Indian coming in May. The tour will start in Philadelphia, PA on March 10th, and circle the country including a stop in Austin, TX for a week at SXSW.

 After a hot series of shows at CMJ in 2008 where both Spin and KCRW gave the band top marks, Miniature Tigers rallied through 2009 playing nearly 200 shows with the likes Ben Folds, Bishop Allen, Fun, Ruby Sons and Princeton. Their single “Cannibal Queen” (download MP3 here via AOL’s Spinner) was a featured video on MTV2’s Subterranean and received great support from folks like Morning Becomes Eclectic, XMU and Daytrotter.

The winning school will receive a free concert by The Maine.  In addition to the concert, the winning school will receive a new IC Bus™ hybrid school bus valued at $150,000, a $20,000 green makeover and LEED school audit, and a $3,000 scholarship for the winning entry.

 The America’s Greenest School Contest encourages students nationwide to submit a variety of entries, such as a photo collection, music, a video, an essay, or photos of a diorama, collage or piece of artwork, which illustrate the vision for how they’d make their school a greener place. “Since every school bus has the capacity to take 36 cars off the road, school bus transportation is inherently eco-friendly. As part of their contest entry, we would like students to demonstrate how their school is committed to green transportation,” McKinney added.  IC Bus will select ten finalists and America will choose the winner through online voting. The winner will be announced the week of Earth Day 2010.

Riding a school bus is just one great way to help the environment. Here are a few green facts from the American School Bus Council:

·        One school bus has the capacity to take 36 cars off the road, for a total of 17.3 million cars a year.

·        More than 26 million children ride the school bus daily, saving 2.3 billion gallons of fuel each year.

·        If an additional 10 percent of children rode school buses, it could save another 300 million gallons of fuel annually.

·        School bus models made in 2007 or later incorporate newer engine technology and are 60 times cleaner than those built before 1990.

·        The daily fuel cost to transport a child to school is $3.68 for a private vehicle, but only 73 cents if that child rides a school bus.

Here are a few simple tips from The Maine on how they’ve committed to living green:

·         Anything that you leave plugged into an outlet is pulling electricity, even if it’s “sleeping”, so we always make sure to unplug anything that isn’t in use.

·         In the winter months here in AZ, we turn both our heater and A/C off. Not only will it save you money, but it’s perfect outside! Who really uses a heater in Arizona anyway?

·         We buy water in jugs to help cut down on all that wasted plastic from water bottles.

·         We keep all of our showers very short – anything over three minutes is a waste of water!

 Semifinalists Janell Wheeler, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Muñoz and Tyler Grady were eliminated tonight on AMERICAN IDOL after they received the fewest of America’s more than 24 million votes. On Tuesday and Wednesday’s first live performance shows of the season, the Top 24 sang Top 10 Hits from the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and Wheeler, 24, from Tampa, FL, sang “What About Love”; Rodriguez, 22, of Chelsea, MA, sang “Happy”; Muñoz, 20, from Huntington Park, CA, sang “You and I Both”; and Grady, 20, from Nazareth, PA, sang “American Woman.”

 February 24, 2010—The 15^th annual Extreme Thing Sports & Music Festival will be back in Las Vegas this year. Held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Desert Breeze Skate Park, this year’s event will again offer fans a full day of rock and extreme sports, including a Pro BMX dirt jump competition, professional wrestling, roller derby, as well as the Vegas AmJam amateur BMX and skate competition.  

For the first time ever, the festival will feature three live music stages, including the Verizon Wireless main stage, the newly formed AP (Alternative Press) Stage featuring the Alternative Press Tour, and the XPOZ Local Band Stage consisting of local area acts. Bands performing at Extreme Thing 2010 include The Used, Five Finger Death Punch, Escape The Fate, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Story of the Year, Never Shout Never, Call The Cops, Hey Monday, Every Avenue, The Summer Set and The Ready Set.  A gold medal performance from Tuesday’s AMERICAN IDOL and double-digit growth from Sunday’s animated originals of THE SIMPSONS, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, and AMERICAN DAD contributed to FOX’s weekly rating of 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49.  In addition, Tuesday’s AMERICAN IDOL ranked as the No. 1 program of the week besting all Olympics telecasts among Adults 18-49.  Despite tough competition this season from such major events as the Olympics and the Super Bowl, FOX remains the No. 1 network of the season and leads its closest competitor (CBS) by +12%.

 AMERICAN IDOL dominated the night on Tuesday, achieving an impressive 9.2/23 among Adults 18-49.  FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.

• AMERICAN IDOL significantly outperformed its nearest competitor by advantages of +67% among Adults 18-49, +100% among Adults 18-34, +144% among Teens and +17% in Total Viewers. 
• Despite airing against the Olympics, AMERICAN IDOL retained 99% of its ratings among Adults 18-49 from the same Hollywood Week episode last year on 2/10/09, as well as 99% among Adults 18-34 and 96% in Total Viewers.

 On Sunday night original episodes of animated favorites THE SIMPSONS, THE CLEVELAND SHOW, and AMERICAN DAD grew significantly over their previous week’s performances. 

• At 8p THE SIMPSONS posted a 2.9/8 among Adults 18-49, marking a +12% increase over the previous week.
• THE CLEVELAND SHOW in the 8:30p timeslot delivered a 2.8/7 among Adults 18-49, gaining +17% over the previous week. 
• At 9:30p AMERICAN DAD achieved a 2.8/6 among Adults 18-49, up +12% versus the previous week.

 Grammy Award-winning songwriter/musician/producer and humanitarian Wyclef Jean will be honored with the prestigious Vanguard Award at the 41^ST NAACP IMAGE AWARDS, broadcast live from Los Angeles’ historic Shrine Auditorium, Friday, Feb. 26 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

 The NAACP Vanguard Award is presented to a person whose groundbreaking work increases understanding and awareness of racial and social issues. Previous honorees include Tyler Perry, Russell Simmons, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Stanley Kramer and Steven Spielberg.

 “The NAACP is proud to honor Wyclef Jean with this year’s Vanguard Award for his continued activism and dedication,” said NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous. “His passion for social justice and helping those in need should be applauded. It was Wyclef who was on a plane shortly after the devastating earthquake hit his homeland of Haiti, and it was his dedication to the people of Haiti that helped spur all of us to donate what we could and keep the people of Haiti in our hearts and prayers.”

 A founding member of the pioneering hip-hop group the Fugees and a prolific solo artist, Wyclef Jean has effortlessly crossed genres, generations and geographic boundaries with his music. Jean’s musical journey began in Haiti where he first sang in his father’s church at age 3. At 10 years old, he moved with his family to the United States, where he formed his first serious musical collaboration, the Tranzlator Crew, with his New Jersey classmates Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. By 1994, the Tranzlator Crew had become the Fugees, and the group enjoyed its first critical acclaim with its debut album, “Blunted On Reality.”

Jean’s talents as a producer and performer have led to myriad successful projects over the past two decades, including collaborating with Bono on “New Day” and Shakira on the Grammy-nominated international smash hit “Hips Don’t Lie,” as well as writing and producing Carlos Santana’s Grammy Award-winning “Supernatural” and Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love.” Jean is currently working on his seventh solo LP, “Wyclef Jean,” which returns Wyclef to his musical roots and will be released this summer via Carnival House/Columbia Records/Sony Music.

In 2005, Jean founded Yéle Haiti, a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment, to provide aid and assistance to his native Haiti. The organization’s community service programs include food distribution and mobilizing emergency relief. The term “yéle” was coined by Wyclef in a song and means “a cry for freedom.” After the devastating earthquake in January, all programs now focus on the relief and reconstruction of the island nation.

Founded on Feb. 12, 1909, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. FOX is Runner-Up During Super Bowl Week, But Still Claims Top-Rated Week of the 2009-10 Season

The final audition rounds of AMERICAN IDOL, the winter finales of BONES and FRINGE, and strong performances by KITCHEN NIGHTMARES and the NASCAR: BUD SHOOTOUT race led FOX to a weekly rating of 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49. Despite the strong Super Bowl performance on CBS on Sunday, FOX still claims the highest rated week of the season (8.8 rating during the week of 1/18/10, Live + Same Day). This marks the first time since the 2001/2002 broadcast season that the network carrying the football face-off did not also have the top-rated week of the season among Adults 18-49.

On Tuesday, AMERICAN IDOL and KITCHEN NIGHTMARES drew large audiences, leading to a nightly win for FOX in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens, Total Viewers and all key demos.
• Week four of AMERICAN IDOL auditions posted a solid 9.0/23 among Adults 18-49, and retained 100% of its previous Tuesday’s audience.
• AMERICAN IDOL outperformed its nearest competitor in the 8p hour by an impressive +109% among Adults 18-49, +93% among Adults 18-34, +388% in Teens and +29% in Total Viewers.
• AMERICAN IDOL also outperformed the premiere of ABC’s Lost by a substantial +64% among Adults 18-49 and +104% in Total Viewers.

Wednesday’s AMERICAN IDOL ROAD TO HOLLYWOOD special gave FOX a dominant win on the night, ranking No. 1 in Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens, Total Viewers and all key demos. FOX crushed the competition, outperforming the No. 2 network of the night by +50% among Adults 18-49, +77% among Adults 18-34, +236% among Teens, and +8% in Total Viewers.

The winter finales of BONES and FRINGE gave FOX a very close second-place finish on a highly competitive Thursday night. So far this season, FOX’s regular Thursday programming outperforms last year’s regular Thursday programming for the same weeks by +14% among Adults 18-49 and +51% in Total Viewers.

• BONES posted a 3.3/10 among Adults 18-49 and delivered its highest number of Total Viewers in three years (since 2/7/07).

BONES posted a 3.3/10 among Adults 18-49 and delivered its highest Total Viewers in three years (since 2/7/07). BONES won its 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54 and virtually all key demos.

BONES was tied for the highest rated procedural of the night, beating CSI (3.2/9) and matching The Mentalist (3.3/9) among Adults 18-49.

BONES outperformed its prior season average by +18% among Adults 18-49 (3.3/10 vs. 2.8/8), by +22% among Adults 18-34 (2.8/9 vs. 2.3/7) and by +28% in Total Viewers (12.4 vs. 9.7 Mil.)

Against all original programming at 9p, FRINGE delivered a 2.6/7 and ranked No. 4 among Adults 18-49, No. 3 among Adults 18-34 and No. 1 among Teens.

Compared to its prior season average, FRINGE saw significant gains of +18% among Adults 18-49 (2.6/7 vs. 2.2/6), +24% among Adults 18-34 (2.0/6 vs. 1.7/5) and +23% in Total Viewers (7.4 vs. 6.1 Mil.).

FOX ranked No. 2 for the night among Adults 18-49, only one tenth behind No. 1 ABC. FOX also ranked No. 2 among Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers and No. 1 among Teens and all key male demos.

So far this season FOX’s regular Thursday programming outperforms last year’s regular Thursday programming for the same weeks, increasing +14% among Adults 18-49 (2.5/7 vs. 2.2/6) and +51% in Total Viewers (8.0 vs. 5.3 Mil.)

Remaining Semifinalists Announced Wednesday, February 17

In an AMERICAN IDOL first, some of the Top 24 semifinalists will be revealed in a special two-hour event airing Tuesday, Feb. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

On Tuesday evening, the remaining contestants will take the stage to perform their final solo number in front of Simon, Ellen, Kara and Randy in hopes of singing their way into the Top 24. Following these performances, the judges will deliberate, and for the first time in IDOL history, will announce some of the Top 24 semifinalists.

Tune in Wednesday, Feb. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) as the judges reveal the remaining contestants who will round out the Top 24.

James Roday, star of the hit television series “Psych,” and Michael Weston of TV’s “House” will play two friends on a reckless weekend in Gabe McKinley’s new play EXTINCTION, previewing Off-Broadway on Feb 13, 2010 prior to its official press opening February 17 at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Manhattan. Wayne Kasserman directs.

Mr. Roday and Mr. Weston reprise their roles Off-Broadway in EXTINCTION following its acclaimed, sold-out run this past fall in Los Angeles at the Elephant Space theatre in Hollywood in a production praised by Variety as “the creative meat of a truly talented writer…a very dark view of the sexes.” The L.A. Times wrote that the play “enters unexplored, murky corners and is uniquely unsettling.”

With a cast featuring James Roday, Michael Weston, Amanda Detmer and Stefanie E. Frame, EXTINCTION is Mr. McKinley’s play about what transpires between two college buddies whose annual outing of male-bonding and debauchery veers precipitously off course when unmet expectations spiral into a volatile showdown.

EXTINCTION will be presented Off-Broadway by RED DOG SQUADRON in association with the Cherry Lane Theatre. The actor Dule Hill, Mr. Roday’s co-star on “Psych,” is also a producer of the play.

Luda moves into second week of 10-week, 32-city The E.N.D. Tour of North America with the Black Eyed Peas, through April 11th in Vancouver
(Feb. 11, 2009 – New York, NY) Three-time Grammy Award-winner Ludacris takes over the #1 spot on Urban Radio for a second consecutive week with “How Low” – now certified RIAA platinum for U.S. sales in excess of one million units, setting the stage for THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES, the 7th studio album from Disturbing Tha Peace CEO and DTP/Def Jam artist Luda, arriving in the physical and digital marketplace on March 9th.
As anticipation builds for THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES, Ludacris moves into his second week as special guest on the Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D. Tour. The 10-week, 32-city tour of stadiums and major arenas across North America runs through April 11th in Vancouver. (Please remaining tour dates below.)
With tour venues quickly selling out, fans will also have their chance to see Ludacris on television over the next month – starting with NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on March 2nd. Appearances continue March 10th on ABC’s Live with Regis & Kelly; March 23rd on The Ellen DeGeneres Show; and March 26th at the outdoor stage of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES is the long-awaited follow-up to Luda’s previous concept album, Theater Of The Mind (November 2008), which spun off a pair of singles that both hit Top 20 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the Top 40 stretch of the Hot 100: “What Them Girls Like” (featuring Chris Brown and Sean Garrett), and “One More Drink” (featuring T-Pain).
It was October of 2008, in the heat of electioneering fever, when Ludacris (Chris Bridges) made hip-hop history as co-star of two major motion pictures that opened within two weeks of each other. Max Payne, based on the popular video game, in which Luda starred as an internal affairs agent alongside Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Beau Bridges, opened on October 17th; and Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla, in which Luda joined Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton for an exciting tale of the Russian mob in London, opened on October 31st.
In between his movie premieres in October, Ludacris performed at the syndicated BET Awards ’08 tv broadcast, hosted by D.L. Hughley. Most recently, Luda co-starred in the Lionsgate film Gamer (September 2009), joining Gerard Butler for another action thriller.
Theater Of The Mind followed-up Luda’s RIAA platinum Release Therapy of 2006, which debuted at #1 – the same week that its first single, the RIAA platinum “Money Maker” (featuring Pharrell Williams) hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Luda’s next #1 single was “Runaway Love” with Mary J. Blige, which they performed with special guests Earth, Wind & Fire at the 49th annual Grammy Awards worldwide telecast. Release Therapy won the Grammy for Best Rap Album, and “Runaway Love” won Best Collaboration at the BET Awards ’07.
In addition to appearing as both guest host and performer on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, 2006 was a landmark year for Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. He scored rave reviews for his star appearance in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the show’s highest rated episode ever. His role in the critically acclaimed film, Crash (which opened in 2005) earned him honors in 2006, sharing the SAG Award for Best Ensemble, the Critics Choice Awards for Best Ensemble, and winning him the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporter Actor in A Motion Picture.

The Downtown Fiction (TDF) hailing from Fairfax, VA, will release its new Best I Never Had – EP, March 23 on Photo Finish Records (3OH!3, Envy on the Coast, Anthony Green).

 Philadelphia pop quartet Drink Up Buttercup will release their first full-length album,

Born and Thrown on a Hook, on March 23rd through Yep Roc Records.

 Drink Up Buttercup earned the attention of fans with the release of their debut 7” Sosey & Dosey

on Kanine Records, which was described as “Beatle-esque but in a kitchen sink kind of way,”

(Brooklyn Vegan) and“60’s psychedelic carnival” (Stereogum). The band – comprised of Jim Harvey

(vocals, guitar), Ben Money (bass, organ), Mike Cammarata (drums) and Farzad Houshiarnejad

(keyboards) – furthered their notoriety through their bombastic live shows with The New York Times

going so far to say that the band “mesmerizes and clobbers live.”

  Drink Up Buttercup’s first full album navigates a surrealistic geography somewhere between the grittiness

of a Tom Waits’ song and the fairy tales of Han Christian Anderson. Produced by Philadelphia’s own

Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog, Man Man) and mixed by Rusty Santos (Animal Collective, Owen Pallett,

Panda Bear), Born and Thrown on a Hook  demonstrates a preoccupation with flawed protagonists,

  “We knew we were making something great and we all fought about what added to the greatness

and what detracted,” Moriarty said. “We tried every way possible to make recordings: live,

one at a time, analog tape, computer… in the end all of them worked and none was the solution.”

 “This is an album I’m glad to have been a part of,” Moriarty continued. “It was a powerful

experience with all the attractive and repellent parts of being alive rolled up in it.”

With only 7 days to go until the release of ‘Scratch My Back’ on February 15th 2010, details are gradually escaping the studio. We thought we’d open the door a little wider. You can get a taste of the album in Peter’s introductory podcast series. Peter Gabriel’s January Full Moon Club update coincided with the release of the first Double A-side, Digital 45 from the ‘Scratch My Back’ project on iTunes . We hear from Peter about his version of ‘The Book Of Love’, and from the writer of that track, Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields, we hear about his cover of Peter’s ‘Not One Of Us’.

Fantastic reviews are rolling in for Allison Moorer’s upcoming Crows, available Feb 9^th, 2010 on Ryko. The Boston Globe calls this 13-track album, produced by R.S. Field (Buddy Guy, John Mayall),  “striking” and says “covering the likes of Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, and Nina Simone on last year’s ‘Mockingbird’ seems to have rubbed off on her.” American Songwriter’s four-star appraisal finds the album “coaxingly lovely in its ministrations,” and “beautiful” simply describes her performance on a recent New York Times popcast.  Internationally, the press also recognizes a certain charm from this Alabama native. Newest IDOL Judge Joins Panel for Start of Hollywood Round

The excitement has been building, and the moment America has been waiting for is almost here! Ellen DeGeneres joins judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest to help winnow down the AMERICAN IDOL contestants during the Hollywood Round beginning Tuesday, Feb. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

During the Hollywood Round beginning next week, hopefuls from around the nation will endure an intense rehearsal schedule and pressure-packed auditions as they vie for a coveted spot among the Top 24. Contestants will be put to the test during solo performances and group numbers Tuesday, Feb. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Wednesday, Feb. 10 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Tuesday, Feb. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) as the judges decide who will make it through and who will go home. Finally, on Wednesday, Feb. 17 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), this season’s Top 24 semifinalists will be revealed.

The following week, it will be solely up to America to decide who will garner a spot in the Top 12. On Tuesday, Feb. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 12 female semifinalists take the AMERICAN IDOL stage for the first time to perform LIVE for the judges and for the nation. On this season’s first night of voting, the contestants will sing their hearts out in hopes of winning America’s vote and surviving another week in the competition. Tune in to see who impresses the judges and who buckles under the pressure.

On Wednesday, Feb. 24 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), the Top 12 male semifinalists will sing their hearts out LIVE for America and the AMERICAN IDOL judges. After the performances, America will vote, and on the first LIVE results show airing Thursday, Feb. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) four semifinalists – two girls and two boys – will be eliminated from the competition and sent home.

FOX DOMINATES THE WEEK WITH FIVE NIGHTLY WINS!

Outstanding ratings from HOUSE, 24, AMERICAN IDOL, HUMAN TARGET, BONES and FRINGE contributed to FOX’s dominant performance last week, bringing the network five nightly wins and a weekly rating of 3.5/10.  FOX continues to have a solid hold on the season’s No. 1 spot, leading its nearest competitor (CBS) by +16%. 

 FOX kicked off the week with its strong Monday lineup of HOUSE and 24, winning the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34/25-54, Teens, and all key male demos and outperforming its nearest competitor (ABC) by +19% among Adults 18-49 and +12% in Total Viewers.

• HOUSE delivered a 5.2/13 among Adults 18-49 and drew 14.2 million Total Viewers, its largest audience since week two of the season. 
• Compared to both last week and its prior season average, HOUSE showed a gain of +13% among Adults 18-49.   
• 24 posted a steady 3.4/8 among Adults 18-49.

 On Tuesday night, AMERICAN IDOL and new action drama HUMAN TARGET delivered an easy nightly win for FOX.  FOX dominated over the No. 2 network of the night with advantages of +85% among Adults 18-49, +104% among Adults 18-34, +250% among Teens and +8% in Total Viewers.

• AMERICAN IDOL posted a 9.0/24 among Adults 18-49 and won the hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens and all key demos.
• AMERICAN IDOL outperformed its nearest competitor by a substantial +125% among Adults 18-49, +204% among Adults 18-34, +369% in Teens and +21% in Total Viewers. 
• In the 9p hour, HUMAN TARGET achieved a 3.1/8 among Adults 18-49 and retained 91% of the previous Wednesday’s audience in Adults 18-49.

 Wednesday’s AMERICAN IDOL again propelled FOX to the top with an impressive 9.5/26 among Adults 18-49, outperforming its Tuesday episode by +6% among Adults 18-49 and +5% in Total Viewers. So far this season, AMERICAN IDOL is on par with last year’s average, showing audience retention of 96% among Adults 18-49, 98% among Adults 18-34, and 97% in Total Viewers. 

 Thursday night’s performances of BONES and FRINGE continued FOX’s winning streak, delivering the network’s highest rated Thursday of the season among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers (excluding sports).

• BONES posted an impressive 3.6/10 among Adults 18-49, its highest rating in over two years.  BONES also delivered its highest number of Total Viewers in three years. 
• At 9p, FRINGE delivered a solid 3.0/8 among Adults 18-49, tying with its highest rating of the season.

 FOX also won the night on Saturday with episodes of COPS and AMERICA’S MOST WANTED both winning their respective timeslots.

 Television’s hottest dance series, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, returns this summer for its seventh season with a two-hour season premiere Thursday, May 27 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

 Hosted by Cat Deeley, the hit dance competition series will inspire and amaze viewers as dancers skilled in styles ranging from hip-hop to ballroom compete to be named America’s Favorite Dancer. Last season’s winner, Russell Ferguson, danced off with a $250,000 cash prize, the title of America’s Favorite Dancer and a cover feature in the March issue of Dance Spirit Magazine.

 Auditions for Season Seven of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE are still under way. Hopefuls can strut their stuff in Dallas on Wednesday, March 10; in Nashville on Sunday, March 14; in Chicago on Thursday, March 18; and in Los Angeles on Friday, March 26. Audition information is as follows:

Auditioners traveling to cities for the open calls should make arrangements to stay for at least two days following their initial audition in the event of a callback.

Dancers must be either a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident of the U.S., or possess a current legal Employment Authorization Card enabling him/her to seek employment freely in the U.S. (i.e., without restrictions as to employer) by the date specified in the eligibility rules. Dancers must be no younger than 18 or older than 30 years of age on the first day they register for auditions. Any dancer who is a minor in his/her state of residence must also have a parent or legal guardian sign all required documents. Talented dancers who spark the judges’ interest during auditions will be invited to callbacks, where they will work with top choreographers. During the callback week, the judges will choose the Top 20 dancers who will continue in the competition.

Brittany passed away on December 20, 2009 at only 32 years of age.  She is survived by her husband, a British screenwriter Simon Monjack.  Monjack told People Magazine that Brittany suffered from  “laryngitis and flu-like symptoms” at the time of her death.

 About Foxy Shazam:

 Hello, my name is Eric Nally and I am the singer and founding member of this rabble-rousing pack of fucks they call Foxy Shazam.  Our other five members are (in alphabetical order): Daisy (bass) Aaron McVeigh (drums), Alex Nauth (horns) Loren Turner (guitar) and Sky White (piano). I love them but before I get into their story, I would like to spend a little time on myself: I am twenty-four years old, the father of two boys, Julian Michael and Francis Jordan, as well as a loving husband to Karen Nally. This creates an interesting contrast to my career as a professional musician. 

 I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was one of two white boys in an all-black high school. The band name Foxy Shazam came from a saying in my school meaning, “cool shoes.”  If you had cool shoes kids would say those are “foxy shazam.” Because of this we have a lot of soul, and try to let it bleed through our music as much as possible.  Mom and Dad were pretty poor as I was growing up but always supported my musical interests nonetheless. In the early years they bought my band cheap guitars and amps and drove us to shows in the family Thunderbird.  I owe them big time and will someday repay them.

 Now that you know a little about my history, I would like to talk about my bandmates. Alex, our trumpet player is my right hand man and as a matter of fact he is transcribing this for me right now.   Alex is classically trained, has a likable personality and is easy to get along with.  We picked him up on the corner of Hollywood and Las Palmas a couple of years into the band’s existence and I feel like his horn playing has added to the uniqueness of our sound.  I meet a lot of people that think horns are stupid, but he’s going to change that.

 Loren, our guitar player is a weird guy to get the hang of and he’s very quiet. Everyone that meets him gets the impression that he’s mad at them but that’s not the case, it’s just the way his face looks.  He loves Dimebag Darrell and I love the influence that gives him in his guitar playing. 

Daisy, our bass player has been in the band for about three years. To be honest, I don’t know too much about him and I like him like that. That’s what makes him Daisy. However, I do know that his contribution to our band is enormous and without him we would not sound the way that we do.

 Aaron our drummer is the newest member of the band.  The position of Foxy’s drummer, until Aaron, has been one that is filled temporarily but never permanently.  I would never be caught dead in the clothes he wears but, hey, to each his own.  His drum playing is not fancy but it’s extremely solid and is exactly what we’ve been looking for all these years.

 Last but not least is Sky White, our pianist who is trained in classical and jazz performance.  I remember Loren and I went to a show his old band was playing and the second I saw him stand on his keyboard with a piñata on his head I knew we had to get him in Foxy Shazam.  It didn’t take too much convincing and a week later we were recording our first album Flamingo Trigger (which came out in 2005) and went on to do Introducing (2008).  Our self-titled major label debut is coming out now. 

 When I listen to a Foxy Shazam record I think of Evel Knievel, Bruce Springsteen, my childhood, Van Morrison, my old friends from high school I don’t talk to anymore, Elton John, the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and beyond, Iggy Pop and my first kiss.  One of my favorite things to do when listening to my music is to close my eyes and picture a crowd of six million people all chanting “Foxy! Foxy! Foxy!”  The lights go out and my band walks on stage.  It gives me goose bumps.  It all makes sense to me.  When you listen to our record, think of your favorite things and it’ll make sense to you as well. 

 Foxy Shazam is not concerned with what category it falls into. We want to stand for our generation. 

 We want to be the biggest band in the world. 

 We are the Michael Jordan of Rock N’ Roll.
