Flobots New Release, Survival Story is Out Now on Universal Repuplic Records

FLOBOTS SURVIVAL STORY Out Now

 VIDEO PREMIERE: “White Flag Warrior”

Universal Republic Records’ breakthrough Denver band Flobots, are celebrating the release date of their

sophomore album Survival Story. The kinetic band appeared at a local In-store yesterday as the album hit the

streets and digital platforms, autographing copies of the new CD at Denver’s popular Twist And Shout Record Store.

The new album features the counter-intuitive lead single “White Flag Warrior,” with Rise Against’s Tim McIlrath.

The song is generating massive buzz at radio with stations such as KFMA/Tucson and WCYY/Portland stating,

“Finally! A reaction record that has intelligence…already generating Top 5 phones,” “…received a ton of

feedback…and got an amazing positive reaction!” Created in Blasting Room studios in Ft. Collins CO,

Survival Story was produced by Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys).

Known for their riveting, socially charged genre-mashing musicianship, Flobots have rallied fans across

the globe to the tune of their rousing activist edge, but have always had a special fondness in their hearts for their

loyal home town Denver fans. “There’s no place like home,” stated Flobots Co-founder Jonny 5. “We’ve always been

inspired by the fans and supportive artistic community that we were nurtured on in Denver. We’re thrilled to be

celebrating the launch of our new album with them.”

Survival Story is the follow-up to their 2008 game-changing, 300,000-plus selling Universal Republic debut album,

‘Fight With Tools’. The new album was helmed by noted producer Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Beck,

Jack Johnson, Moby), and finds the group at yet another turning point of inspiring transformation. The first

single from the new album is the pummeling “White Flag Warrior,” featuring a guest appearance by Tim

McIIrath of influential Chicago band, Rise Against.

Flobots garnered across-the-board critical, cultural and commercial acclaim in 2008 with their platinum-plus

smash hit “Handlebars.” The song became a Top 5 clarion call of both the rap and rock worlds, with

the spirited anthem soaring to #1 on the alternative radio chart as the format’s most requested song of the year.

The six-member band was also recognized as innovative agents of cultural change during their mainstream

rise, with media outlets such as USA Today praising their “stinging social commentary,” and the Boston Herald

calling them “rap’s most singular breakthrough act in years.” Flobots’ innovative music, vigorous community

networking and uplifting calls to action reflected the generational shift of priorities reverberating

throughout the entire country.

Survival Story finds the band invigorated by the range of life-experiences that flowed

through the Flobots’ global collective the past two years (their extremely effective non-profit

organization,flobots.org, has mobilized fans to become change-agents in their own communities

throughout the world). But, the sophomore album also arrives in 2010 as a vision of hope for a

world pondering its limits: Flobots’ unique birds-eye view of a world changed and rearranged –

both inside and out.

Enter Shikari New Release and Tour with Silverstein, A Day to Remember, August Burns Red and on Warped Tour

ENTER SHIKARI NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH A DAY TO REMEMBER, AUGUST BURNS RED, SILVERSTEIN

KICKS OFF MARCH 31

UK BAND’S LATEST, COMMON DREADS, AVAILABLE DIGITALLY IN THE U.S. PHYSICAL RELEASE TO BE SOLD EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH HOT TOPIC BEGINNING APRIL 13

BAND JOINS VANS WARPED TOUR

JUNE 24-JULY 18

U.K. juggernauts ENTER SHIKARI, known for an eclectic sound that audaciously melds hardcore punk with pulse-pumping drum’n’bass and dark, gut-churning dubstep, are set to join A Day To Remember, August Burns Red and Silverstein on the  North American TOURSICK tour starting March 30th in Ft Lauderdale, FL. A number of dates are already sold out. The band will then join the Vans Warped Tour from June 24-July 18th

The band’s latest release, Common Dreads (which debuted at #7 in the UK) is the follow-up to the gold-certified debut Take To The Skies–which also debuted in the UK top 10, earning the band headlining gigs and regular spots on the major worldwide festival circuit. The band’s most recent U.K. headline tour culminated with a triumphant show in front of over 5000 fans at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Common Dreads is available digitally in the United States via the band’s own imprint Ambush Reality in partnership with DGC/Interscope Records. The physical release will be available in all Hot Topic stores beginning April 13th. Fans can also purchase the album at all shows as well as from the band’s merch store: http://www.gomerch.com/interface/body.php?module=store&id=95.

For the latest album, the group headed to the isolated Isle Of Wight and holed-up at Arreton Manor studio for three months with veteran producer Andy Gray (U2, Tori Amos, Korn, Gary Numan). Common Dreads is a 15-song soundtrack for an entire generation on a mission to define the era in which it was born: one of recession, paranoia, state control and the fallout of decades of accelerated capitalism; and on the other side, an era of hope, creativity, humanity, hedonism, irreverence and fun. “Politics are unavoidable,” explains lead vocalist ROU REYNOLDS. “We just can’t write sappy music. Our first album was cryptic and metaphor-heavy, this one is more direct. Since we gained popularity, we realized, whether we like it or not, we have the ability to influence people–and with that is a responsibility to speak our minds.” Common Dreads is destined to unite the tribes, divide the critics and thoroughly satisfy anyone who has witnessed the mad live spectacle that is ENTER SHIKARI.

Enter Shikari is: Rou Reynolds  (vocals / electronics) Rory Clewlow (guitar / backing vocals) Chris Batten (bass / vocals) Rob Rolfe (drums).

UK raves for ENTER SHIKARI:

“Hailing from the wilds of St. Albans, Enter Shikari brought their electronic hardcore to the masses with their hugely successful debut, Take To The Skies, and on number two they’ve stepped up their game. The songs are more than just Foo Fighters numbers run through a Moog keyboard. They stand alone as sing-along monsters that at times are genuinely angry. Best track: ‘Zzzonked’ is like a calculator at a riot” - FHM

“…Delivered a punchy, dynamic set weighted in favour of new material. The band’s excellent second album…nods towards the agro-merchants Gallows, The Prodigy and The King Blues and consequently new songs like ‘Step Up’ sound more muscular and menacing…”  - Kerrang!

“…the show is a relentlessly fun bombardment of the senses. Frontman Rou Reynolds is a man set on destroying everything: the speakers, the monitors, the Barfly, himself, our ear-drums and, most impressively, the divide between band and fan. …You can certainly see why Enter Shikari have such a strong fan-base: it’s earned through dedication and sheer hard work, rather than merely bought through contrived marketing. The songs themselves feed off this relationship: amplified by the chaos of fans climbing pillars or jumping off amps, they feel urgent, unpredictable and exciting”. – NME

“Enter Shikari didn’t disappoint, with an exhilarating set complete with impressive light show and the fans equaling the band in terms of energy.” – Big Cheese

Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders to Release Second Album on April 20

TAYLOR HAWKINS AND THE COATTAIL RIDERS:

RED LIGHT FEVER

Second Album From Foo Fighters’ Drummer and Friends
Out April 20 On Shanabelle/RCA

A year in the making, the second effort from Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins and his Coattail Riders, Red Light Fever, is now scheduled for an April 20 release on Shanabelle/RCA Records.

Hawkins began demoing tracks on his own when an early 2009 break from the Foo Fighters’ grueling touring schedule finally freed up the time. According to Hawkins, who of course provides drums and vocals on all tracks among other additional instrumentation, “About halfway through, I just said f**k it, I don’t care if the record ends up sounding like me having sex with my record collection. I’m just going to have fun with it.”

The record soon went from a home recording project like the Coattail Riders’ 2006 debut (which was  recorded in Foo Fighters touring percussionist Drew Hester’s living room) to  full on sessions at the Foo Fighters’ state of the art 606 studio complex. Hawkins was joined by returning Coattail Riders Chris Chaney (bass) and Gannin Arnold (guitar) and, for the first time in the studio, touring Coattails guitarist Nate Wood. As the record’s dozen songs were fleshed out, so too was  its stellar supporting cast, which would eventually come to include Elliot Easton of the Cars, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen, and last but by no  means least, Hawkins’ bandmate Dave Grohl.

Red Light Fever could be considered a labor of love – if the sheer joy exuded in every note, influence and nuance of every song didn’t make the entire affair seem so effortless. Hawkins’ increasingly accomplished vocals and world renowned drumming skills  recall and pay tribute to Hawkins’ vast spectrum of classic rock heroes – from the vintage 70s glam stomp of “Way Down,” the hard rock rave up “Not Bad  Luck,” a nod to Beatlesque balladry in the form of “Hell To Pay,” and many more. Virtually every track evokes memories of the respective heydays of the Chinn-Chapman hit factory, The Move, Sweet, and even a little 10cc for good measure – all imbued with Hawkins’ unmistakable musical personality.

Melissa Etheridge New Album, Fearless Love will release April 27 on Island Records

MELISSA ETHERIDGE’s “FEARLESS LOVE” HITS TOP 30 AT HOT AC AND TOP 10 AT TRIPLE-A – FIRST SINGLE FROM FEARLESS LOVE, NEW ALBUM SET FOR APRIL 27th RELEASE ON ISLAND RECORDS

“I need a fearless love/ I won’t settle for anything less…” – Melissa Etheridge

(March 15, 2010 – New York, NY) Melissa Etheridge’s new single, “Fearless Love,” a bold and soaring declaration for living – and loving – to the fullest, has struck a momentous chord as it soars inside the Top 30 this week on the Hot AC chart, and rises to #10 on the Triple A chart.  “Fearless Love” is the title track from Fearless Love, Melissa’s triumphant new album, arriving April 27th on Island Records.

The “Fearless Love” single and album were produced by John Shanks, whose first producer credit was Etheridge’s Breakdown, her four-time Grammy-nominated album of 1999.  Since then, Shanks has risen to the top ranks of rock and pop producers with credits including Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette and Bon Jovi, earning him a 2005 Producer of the Year Grammy Award.

Fearless Love expands on the multiple strengths that have made Etheridge one of the most beloved figures in rock.  It follows The Awakening, her revealing album of 2007, with a rousing tone at once tough and tender, as only she can be.  It is that force of presence which has earned her, among other accolades, the 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song (“I Need to Wake Up” from the documentary film An Inconvenient Truth) and two Grammy Awards.

About Melissa Etheridge:

Melissa Etheridge has been a core Island Records artist since the release of her critically-acclaimed eponymous RIAA double-platinum debut album, which led to an invitation to sing on the Grammy Awards broadcast.  For several years, Melissa’s popularity built around such memorable songs as “Bring Me Some Water” (from her debut), “No Souvenirs” (from Brave And Crazy) and “Ain’t It Heavy” (from  Never Enough), for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal.

Melissa hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a searing song of longing that brought her second Best Female Rock Grammy.  The album went six times platinum and spent more than two and a half years on the album chart.  Her highest charting album, Your Little Secret (#6 on the Billboard Top 200), included the hit single, “I Want to Come Over.”  Her astounding success led Etheridge to receive the Songwriter of the Year honor at the ASCAP Pop Awards.

Daniel Lioneye, the side project from members of HIM confirm release of Vol. II on April 27

DANIEL LIONEYE CONFIRM RELEASE OF VOL. II ON APRIL 27TH

New Song Posted On Band’s Myspace Page

The End Records is proud to announce the worldwide release of VOL. II from Daniel Lioneye (on Warner Bros. Records in Finland), the side project from members of HIM, on April 27th. Consisting of Linde (HIM) on guitars, bass and vocals, Burton (HIM) on keyboards and Bolton (Enochian Crescent) on drums, the band has always embraced breaking boundaries and taking new directions, which is exactly what they did on their sophomore release.

Formed in 2001, Daniel Lioneye’s debut album, The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, was only released in Finland and Germany and was a “tongue in cheek” psychedelic stoner rock album. Earning the group quite a bit of attention, the band played at handful of festivals in Finland which resulted in the title track being the theme song for Bam Margera’s TV show, Viva La Bam. Simply called VOL. II, the band’s North American debut is heavier than the band’s prior release, making it an extreme, yet melodic, rock n’ roll album influenced by black metal.

The first song available for listening on the band’s Myspace page is “I Have Never Wanted To Be Number One”.  Linde had the following to say about the song… “This is no doubt the most accessible song on the album and believe it or not it was written about 5 years ago. It was meant to be an acoustic ballad but this album is not about acoustic ballads so we started to fuck around with it. At first I thought that it sticks out a bit too much from the rest of the stuff and wasn’t sure if I should include it. It sounded too serious and stiff to me. Then Burton came in with his 80′s keys and we added the blast beat part in the end and it changed my mind. Lyrically I guess it is about moving on. But it kind of raises more questions than gives answers and I like to keep it that way.”

VOL. II Tracklisting:

1.       Euroshaman

2.       Flatlined

3.       Saturnalia

4.       Neolithic Way

5.       I Saw Myself

6.       The Mentat

7.       I Have Never Wanted To Be Number One

8.       Who Turned The Lights Out

9.       Kiss of the Cannibal

Foxy Shazam To Premiere Album On Chatroulette.com

A message from Foxy Shazam:

hello, you guys know about www.ChatRoulette.com? it’s this underground social website thing that connects strangers around the world through their webcams.  whoever uses it can meet thousands of people everyday! It goes from kittens playing one second and then amateur porn the next. It can get  pretty gross, yet adorable.

So that got us thinking- If this site is nothing but a place for people trying to get lucky, then lets put a little Foxy in their lives! So, for one week, starting Monday, March 8th, our new album will stream in its entirety, letting you guys hear our self-titled album a month before it hits stores on April 13th. Try to get lucky and land on the Foxy Shazam webcam and you’ll get an advance listen to the new record, but the only way to hear it is to spin the virtual wheel and get lucky.  Good luck!

Don’t want to spin the wheel in fear of perverts? Then check out our digital and physical pre-order at http://foxyshazam.com on Tuesday, March 9th.  When you pre-order you’ll get two tracks- ”Wanna Be Angel” and “Unstoppable.”  Also, look out for Yahoo Music to be premiering our new music video for “Oh Lord” on Wednesday, March 17th!!!

Rooney New album Eureka releases June 8

ROONEY SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, EUREKA, JUNE 8th

BAND PARTNERS WITH WARNER MUSIC GROUP’S INDEPENDENT LABEL GROUP TO FORM NEW LABEL, CALIFORNIA DREAMING RECORDS

Los Angeles quartet Rooney are very proud to announce the release of their new album, EUREKA.  Produced and crafted entirely by the band, EUREKA will be released June 8th on California Dreaming Records through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group. The follow-up to Rooney’s two critically acclaimed albums – ROONEY & CALLING THE WORLDEUREKA sees the band not only showcasing their most inventive and original material to date, but also seeking innovative and self-motivated ways to develop in a new climate, playing a vital role in the future of the music industry.

Taking control of their music brings Rooney back to their roots. Formed in 1999, the band began self-producing and promoting EPs with endless shows on The Sunset Strip and along the way garnered a massive fan base in their hometown of Los Angeles and beyond.  Among those fans was Geffen Records, who signed the band and released their first two albums.

Since the release of their debut self-titled album, Rooney’s irresistible songs have continually captivated fans and critics with what Spin, Details, Entertainment Weekly, Alternative Press, Nylon, The New York Times and Rolling Stone Magazine hail as “elaborate sunny vocal harmonies crowning anthems.” EUREKA continues to showcase the band’s knack for creating melodic hooks, reverberating guitars and heartfelt harmonies. From the playful rhythmic groove of lead single I CAN’T GET ENOUGH to the timeless pop balladry of INTO THE BLUE, from the psychedelic sounds of STARS AND STRIPES to the blissful and breezy pop of I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOU, EUREKA not only succeeds with 12 impressive and infectious tracks, but spotlights the band’s gift to craft intelligent and stimulating rock songs.

Developed through years of non-stop touring with artists like Weezer, The Strokes, Travis and Granddaddy, and two highly praised records, Rooney’s irresistible collection of songs and fiercely loyal fan-base have impacted modern rock & alternative radio stations and infiltrated video outlets such as MTV, VH1, Fuse and MTV2. Along the way, Rooney has performed on THE OC, The Today Show, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Crystal Antlers New Album, SXSW and more Tour Dates

CRYSTAL ANTLERS

LITTLE SISTER/DEAD HORSES 7″
3/9/10

 First Listen: “Little Sister”
“Dead Horses” Free Download

“Crystal Antlers scorch the Earth….”  – Mojo

“If you hear anything more exciting this year, you’re lying.” - NME

“As much as it diverges from the brain-frying aim of typical psych-rock outings, EP is an

unorthodox summer record– not so much for driving to the beach as actually being in its

sweltering grasp, equal parts scorched earth and wide open spaces.” - Pitchfork

Currently holed up on a small farm near the ocean in La Bufadora, Mexico writing their second album,

Californian 6 piece Crystal Antlers (Damian Edwards – percussion, Jonny Bell – vocals/bass, Andrew King

– guitar, Cora Foxx – organ, Kevin Stuart – drums, Errol Davis – guitar)  have announced their return to Europe in April

as part of a larger 45 day UK and European headline tour. They will also be hitting SXSW prior to their European trek.

The Little Sister/Dead Horses 7″ will be released Tuesday, March 9th. You can download the tracks

for free now or order a physical copy of the limited edition red vinyl (500 made) for $6 + S/H at their website.

Released last year, their debut, TENTACLES (Touch and Go) was a hotwired trip of brainfrying psych-punk

backed up with a live show to match. The April shows will see the band  previewing tracks from their recent

writing retreat for the first time and promise to be nothing short of undiluted cosmic raw psych and

soulful punk rock.

“A blast furnance. Ravenously reducing psych, garage [and] via their sheer sound and fury” - Plan B

“This is Crystal Antlers, and they sound to these ears like bratty young brothers of Comets On Fire –

ie totally hotwired and fried psychedelic punks – only with a little of the noise removed for

fractional extra clarity” - Uncut.co.uk

Seasons After Tour dates and Debut album, Through Tomorrow out March 23

Dirtbag officially partners with Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group (ILG)

Seasons After #22 on the Active Rock Chart with “Cry Little Sister” ** Debut Album Through Tomorrow out 3/23

San Diego, CA – March 3rd 2010.  After starting its new record label 9 months ago, 15 year old music apparel company Dirtbag Music, Inc. is finding success where others have failed. Breaking through at rock radio is Seasons After.  Their first single “Cry Little Sister” is #22 and climbing on the BDS active rock chart, putting Dirtbag Music on the map. In January, Dirtbag officially partnered with Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group (ILG), East West Records, to become Dirtbag/ILG/Warner further establishing the new label’s competitive resources. “The decision to partner with ILG and the Warner Music Group family was based on the forward thinking structure of ILG and its understanding of our changing industry,” states Dirtbag Music CEO, Douglas Whitsitt. “This relationship allows Dirtbag Records to continue to develop new talent while maintaining the resources and expertise to market that talent when it is ready.”

Dirtbag Music has established its brand name through endorsing mainstay acts such as Guns ‘N Roses, Disturbed, Megadeth, Korn, and Mudvayne, which bodes well for its newly signed artists as well. In the case of Seasons After, Dirtbag partnered with Legacy Management (12 Stones) to co-manage the band’s career. “I feel the partnership with Dirtbag is unique due to how similar they are to our beliefs and understanding of today’s industry and tactics. They are a brand that is not afraid to think outside the box and take a risk on creating new avenues for artists,” states Legacy’s owner and founder Jason “JD” Fields.

Seasons After hails from the Air Capital of Wichita, KS.  They are a five piece rock/metal band comprised of guitarists James Beattie and Chris Dawson, Vocalist Chris Shlichting, drummer Tim Rails, and bassist Michael Byers. Their radio-ready sound of blended guitars and vocal harmonies has been classified by some as nu metal with classic commercial radio sensibility. The band formed in late 2006, and in just three short years, Seasons After has performed on The Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, the Jagermeister Music Tour and The Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. In 2009, the band signed to Dirtbag/ILG/Warner. Their debut album “Through Tomorrow” will be released March 23rd 2010.

Courtney Love returns with first new Hole album in 10 Years, Nobody’s Daughter

COURTNEY LOVE RETURNS WITH NOBODY’S DAUGHTER, FIRST NEW HOLE ALBUM IN 10 YEARS, OUT APRIL 27th ON MERCURY

“SKINNY LITTLE BITCH”  NEW SINGLE – GOES TO RADIO TODAY, IMPACTS MARCH 8th AT ALL ROCK RADIO FORMATS,  UP FOR DIGITAL SALE ON MARCH 16th

Candid cover story in current (March) issue of SPIN magazine

Hole to perform at SPIN party at SXSW – further dates to be announced

(March 3, 2010 – New York, NY)  “Courtney Love has found a home,” proclaimed www.SPIN.com, the magazine’s website, referring to NOBODY’S DAUGHTER, the brand new album by Hole – which will be released April 27th on Mercury Records.

The first single pick from NOBODY’S DAUGHTER is “Skinny Little Bitch,” which goes to radio today, in advance of the March 8th impact date at all Rock Radio formats. In addition,  the song is now available to download on the bands website www.NobodysDaughter.com for 24 hours.  “Skinny Little Bitch” will be available at all digital platforms on March 16th.

Along with Courtney, the new line-up of Hole includes 23-year-old British guitarist Micko Larkin (formerly of London indie rockers Larrikin Love), bassist Shawn Dailey (of Rock Kills Kid), and drummer Stuart Fisher.  (Jack Irons, formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, played drums on the album.)  Hole recently played a brief series of dates in February at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, then in Milan and Amsterdam.  Hole is scheduled to perform at the SPIN party at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference in March, with further tour dates TBA.

In the devastatingly candid cover story in SPIN’s March issue (on newsstands now), “The Nine Lives Of Courtney Love,” writer Phoebe Reilly and photographer Daniel Jackson spent a day and night at home in TriBeCa and its environs with the legendary singer, songwriter, producer, and actress.  During their conversations and encounters, Courtney speaks freely of the odyssey that led to the completion of NOBODY’S DAUGHTER and her hopes for the album’s success.  Her tumultuous associations with various collaborators along the way (“the kindness of strangers,” she says) – producer Michael Beinhorn, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, co-writer Linda Perry.

NOBODY’S DAUGHTER is the first album by Hole in more than a decade (since 1998’s three-time Grammy-nominated Celebrity Skin).  It also marks Courtney’s first record since her solo album America’s Sweetheart of 2004 (with “Mono” and “Hold On To Me,” both songs co-written with Linda Perry, who co-wrote the bulk of that album’s songs with Courtney).  For more information go to www.NobodysDaughter.com

The Rocket Summer Album, One Republic and Warped Tour Dates

THE ROCKET SUMMER’s ALBUM , OF MEN AND ANGELS  #1 ON ITUNES ALBUM CHART

ALBUM OUT NOW ON ISLAND RECORDS

“We’re not talking simple acoustic solo stuff here.  The music Bryce [Avary] makes as The Rocket Summer is lush, explosively catchy and artful power pop that hints at a new Brian Wilson or Prince in the making.  Keep an eye out on this one. “

                                                                                -Austin City Limits.com

“The Rocket Summer’s Bryce Avary establishes himself as a formidable rock force with “Of Men and Angels” (Island).”

                                                                                - Newsday

(February 24, 2010 – New York, NY) With yesterday’s release of  The Rocket Summer’s second major label album on Island Records, OF MEN AND ANGELS, the album shot to #1 on iTunes overall album chart, moving ahead of The Black Eyed Peas, Sade and Lady Antebellum.

The Rocket Summer will be playing a hometown album release party for OF MEN AND ANGELS next Friday night, February 26th, at the Granada Theatre in Dallas.  The day before (February 25th) the Rocket Summer will perform on local FOX-TV morning show, Good Day Dallas.  Then March 4th , TRS will perform on FOX’s Good Day Austin.

On March 20th, the closing Saturday of this year’s 10-day SXSW (South By Southwest) Music + Film + Interactive Conference in Austin – the Rocket Summer will play an acoustic set as part of the AP (Alternative Press) all-day “100 Bands (You Need To Know)” concert.  TRS will join 18 other bands (“in no particular order,” AP advises) who will play on three stages at Emo’s beginning at noon.  The AP website http://www.alternativepress.com/news/8509.htm is also streaming OF MEN AND ANGELS.

OF MEN AND ANGELS follows-up Do You Feel, The Rocket Summer’s Island debut, released July 2007.  After the release of “So Much Love,” as an advance track, the album’s title tune single “Do You Feel” broke through at Alternative and Modern Rock radio in the summer of 2008.  Meanwhile TRS headlined the sold-out AP tour and graced the cover of AP’s magazine.  TRS then played a successful six-week North American tour with Phantom Planet, Secret Handshake, and the Morning Light, plus two sold out headline tours in the UK.  .    For further information go to www.TheRocketSummer.com

WU MASSACRE, IN STORES MARCH 30th ON DEF JAM

FIRST NEW SINGLE BY ‘METH, GHOST & RAE,’ “OUR DREAMS,” PRODUCED BY RZA, SAMPLES MICHAEL JACKSON’s “WE’RE ALMOST THERE”

Guest appearances on WU MASSACRE by Tracy Morgan – fellow Wu-Tang Clan members RZA, Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna

(February 23, 2010 – New York, NY)  Cosmic forces of destiny unite three mortals in world-shaking times, as Def Jam recording artists – and Wu-Tang Clan brothers-for-life –  Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon join forces on WU MASSACRE, an historic collaboration that takes Wu science and theology to the next step on hip-hop’s evolutionary grid.  (Tentative tracklist, song titles and guest artists appear below, subject to change.)

WU MASSACRE, which arrives March 30th in the physical and digital marketplace, will be preceded by the soulful street single “Our Dreams,” starring the legendary Wu-Tang Clan’s three most dynamic MCs, Meth, Ghost, and Rae and produced by RZA for Wu-Tang Productions. For an added tug on the heart-strings, “Our Dreams” samples Michael Jackson’s mid-’70s hit as a 17-year old, “We’re Almost There.”

In addition to “Our Dreams,” Meth, Ghost and Rae take the trio spotlight on two more tracks: the thunderous opener “Criminology 2.5” and “Miranda.”  Ghost and Meth take the lead on “It’s That Wu Sh*t.”  On the “Smooth Sailing” Remix, Ghost and Meth are joined by Solomon Childs and Streetlife.  On “Gunshowers,” Meth and Ghost are joined by fellow WTC rapper Inspectah Deck and Sun God.  “Youngstown Heist” features Trife, Sheek and Bully.

In addition to RZA, WU MASSACRE features a number of guest producers, starting with Mathematics on “Mef vs. Chef,” “Dangerous,” “Miranda,” and “Made Men.”  Scram Jones produced “Youngstown Heist” and “It’s That Wu Sh*t.”  E Meal produced “Pimpin’ Chipp.”  And Ty Fyffe produced the “Smooth Sailing” Remix.

The springtime arrival of WU MASSACRE follows a busy year of album releases and performance schedules by all three artists:

Ghostface Killah returned as The Wizard Of Poetry (released September 2009), his 6th Def Jam album (and 10th major label album).  The Wiz focused on duets with an A-list of guests including Raheem DeVaughn (on the first single, “Baby”), Mary J. Blige, John Legend, Fabolous, Lloyd, Vaughn Anthony & Estelle, and others.  Ghost spent July and August with Method Man and Redman, keeping the Wu-Tang Clan spirit alive and well on the month-long, 21-city Foot Print in Hip-Hop Tour

Raekwon aka The Chef gave WU fans something to believe with the long-awaited Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II (also released September 2009), which spun off a pair of all-star singles: “New Wu” featuring Meth and Ghost, produced by RZA; and “House of Flying Daggers” featuring Meth, Ghost, GZA, and Inspectah Deck, produced by J. Dilla.  CLII is the sequel to Rae’s groundbreaking solo debut of 1995, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, one of the very first solo albums released by a W-TC member after the group’s 36 Chambers entry back in ’93.  Rae spent the summer 2009 on the massively successful Rock The Bells Tour alongside GZA, RZA, Nas, Damian Marley, the Roots, Ice Cube, Common, and others.

Always larger than life, Method Man is still basking in the glow of Blackout! 2 (released May 2009), his critically acclaimed collaboration with Redman. It was the long-awaited sequel (ten years!) to Meth and Red’s RIAA platinum Blackout, a defining hip-hop event of 1999 (with “Tear It Off,” “Y.O.U.,” and “Da Rockwilder”).  Blackout! 2 blasted off with a trifecta of new single releases showing off Meth and Red at their very best: “A-Yo” featuring Saukrates, produced by Pete Rock; “Mrs. International” featuring Erick Sermon, produced by Buckwild; and “City Lights” featuring Bun B, produced by Nasty Kutt.

 WU MASSACRE (tentative track listing):

1.  “Criminology 2.5” featuring Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Method Man.

2.  “Mef vs. Chef” featuring Rhythm Roots Allstars, produced by Allah Mathematics.

3.  “Ya Moms” skit featuring Method Man and Raekwon.

4.  “Smooth Sailing” Remix featuring Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Solomon Childs and Streetlife, produced by Ty Fyffe.

5.  “Our Dreams” featuring Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Method Man, produced by RZA.

6.  “Gunshowers” featuring Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck and Sun God, produced by Digem Tracks Productions.

7.  “Dangerous” featuring Rhythm Roots Allstars, produced by Allah Mathematics.

8.  “Pimpin’ Chipp” featuring Rhythm Roots Allstars, produced by E Meal.

9.  “How To Pay Rent” skit featuring Tracy Morgan.

10.  “Miranda” featuring Raekwon, Ghostface Killah and Method Man, produced by Allah Mathematics.

11.  “Youngstown Heist” featuring Trife, Sheek and Bully, produced by Scram Jones.

12.  “It’s That Wu Sh*t” featuring Ghostface Killah & Method Man, produced by Scram Jones.

Free Energy release debut album, Stuck on Nothing on March 9 and tour dates

FREE ENERGY

STUCK ON NOTHING
March 9 – Astralwerks/DFA

“I loved making that record. It was so good to record guitars again.I kind of forgot
that I used to be really good at that — recording guitars.”James Murphy

“…a perfectly tart, semi glammy, Thin Lizzy-style nugget of summery rock’n'roll”  - Spin

“It totally fucking rules! Lighters up!” - Rolling Stone

From “Free Energy” to “Dark Trance,” Free Energy has been hinting at their forthcoming debut
full-length album since the Spring.  As an early treat, the band released a digital EP in September
featuring two album tracks and a B-side, “Something In Common”.  Produced by DFA’s James
Murphy, Free Energy’s debut full-length album, Stuck On Nothing, will be released digitally on
March 9 and physically on May 4 via Astralwerks/DFA Records. The band is embarking on a
national tour throughout February and March with Foreign Born. For a preview of the album,
check out the free download of “Hope Child.”

Opening the album and lead by a simple cowbell, the 70’s inspired self titled track “Free Energy”
will get stuck in your head for days!  “All I Know,” a lovesick pop-ballad, highlights the band’s
unique sound seamlessly by incorporating dirty guitar riffs and bongo drums.  The beat-driven
repetitive lyrics of “Bang Pop” make for an irresistibly anthemic party song.

“a good-time 1970s rock rip of epic proportions… unbridled and, in
the spirit of things, totally rad (Best New Music)”  - Pitchfork

“Free Energy burst with unironic sun-flecked highs – it’s classic rock from
8-track heaven.” – Alternative Press

Disco Biscuits new album, Planet Anthem pre-order and US tour, Bonnaroo and more

Disco Biscuits Take Planet Anthem (Out 3/1610) Pre-Order To Next Level at http://planetanthem.com/

Playing Winter Music Conference, Bonnaroo * US Headlining Tour Starts Tonight

The Disco Biscuits are taking the pre-order game to a whole new level. Everyone and their mother does the signed CD/poster/ticket bundle (which they’ll be doing too), but that’s not the good stuff. Starting Monday, Feb 22nd on http://planetanthem.com/ fans will have the opportunity to pre-order an autographed copy of Planet Anthem (Out March 16th via their own Diamond Riggs/ILG) and pick from over 32 different combination options. These options include but are not limited to:

* Dinner with the band
* An opportunity to sing on the next Biscuits record
* Writing the band’s setlist for a night
* Shots of Jameson with the band
* Playing a song with the band on stage during a show
* Guitar/Bass/Keyboard/Drum lessons with a band member
* Attending a Philadelphia Eagles game with the band
* Playing tennis verses the band
For a full list, check out http://planetanthem.com/

Planet Anthem marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. Since they formed in 1995, the guys created their own movement by fusing the jam band and electronic music scenes. However, their forthcoming release prominently features elements of pop, indie dance, hip hop, and straight up rock music. This is not the band you think they are. This is a band that makes damn good pop songs that, if you gave them a chance, would resonate with you. Don’t be scared, give it a whirl.

The Biscuits collaborated for the first time with multiple producers, songwriters, and outside musicians, including Don Cheegro and Dirty Harry (Ludacris, Chris Brown, Beanie Sigel). The result is an album filled with sing along melodies and infectious beats. Another first, the new video for “You and I” has been added to rotation at both MTV2 and MTVu and the band is going to be hosting Subterranean as well.

After plowing through 5 sold-out dates at Nokia Theatre in NYC over New Years and four sold-out shows at Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre in January, The Biscuits will hit the road again starting tonight in Baltimore. The band will be performing at Ultra Music Festival in Miami alongside Tiesto, Deadmau5, Carl Cox, Passion Pit, Major Lazer and more. They’ll also be playing Bonnaroo 2010 this June in Manchester, TN. They also just announced details for the annual music festival they put together, Camp Bisco, which is now in in 9th year.  Past performers have included Snoop Dogg, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, The Roots, MSTRKRFT, Nas and Damien Marley, Girl Talk, and Kid Cudi.  This year, the event will take place July 15 – 17 in Mariaville, New York. Look for a lineup announcement in the next couple weeks.
Lastly, the Biscuits will be hosting their even Bisco Inferno at Red Rocks on May 29th. This year’s lineup will feature Aeroplane, Pnuma Trio, The Crystal Method (DJ Set), Booka Shade, The Glitch Mob and of course 2 sets of the Biscuits. Stay tuned for an announcement regarding the onsale and other shows in Colorado prior Red Rocks.

Ludacris new single March 9 on tour with The Black Eyed Peas

LUDACRIS’ NEW SINGLE “HOW LOW” HITS SECOND WEEK AT #1 ON URBAN RADIO CHART AND CLOSES IN ON 1 MILLION DIGITAL DOWNLOADS!

FIRST SINGLE FROM NEW ALBUM THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES – ARRIVING MARCH 9th ON DTP/DEF JAM

Luda moves into second week of 10-week, 32-city The E.N.D. Tour of North America with the Black Eyed Peas, through April 11th in Vancouver
(Feb. 11, 2009 – New York, NY) Three-time Grammy Award-winner Ludacris takes over the #1 spot on Urban Radio for a second consecutive week with “How Low” – now certified RIAA platinum for U.S. sales in excess of one million units, setting the stage for THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES, the 7th studio album from Disturbing Tha Peace CEO and DTP/Def Jam artist Luda, arriving in the physical and digital marketplace on March 9th.
As anticipation builds for THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES, Ludacris moves into his second week as special guest on the Black Eyed Peas’ The E.N.D. Tour. The 10-week, 32-city tour of stadiums and major arenas across North America runs through April 11th in Vancouver. (Please remaining tour dates below.)
With tour venues quickly selling out, fans will also have their chance to see Ludacris on television over the next month – starting with NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on March 2nd. Appearances continue March 10th on ABC’s Live with Regis & Kelly; March 23rd on The Ellen DeGeneres Show; and March 26th at the outdoor stage of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live. Luda will round out the month with a double-header on March 30th, hitting TBS’s Lopez Tonight with George Lopez and E! network’s Chelsea Lately.
THE BATTLE OF THE SEXES is the long-awaited follow-up to Luda’s previous concept album, Theater Of The Mind (November 2008), which spun off a pair of singles that both hit Top 20 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the Top 40 stretch of the Hot 100: “What Them Girls Like” (featuring Chris Brown and Sean Garrett), and “One More Drink” (featuring T-Pain).
It was October of 2008, in the heat of electioneering fever, when Ludacris (Chris Bridges) made hip-hop history as co-star of two major motion pictures that opened within two weeks of each other. Max Payne, based on the popular video game, in which Luda starred as an internal affairs agent alongside Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis and Beau Bridges, opened on October 17th; and Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla, in which Luda joined Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton for an exciting tale of the Russian mob in London, opened on October 31st.
In between his movie premieres in October, Ludacris performed at the syndicated BET Awards ’08 tv broadcast, hosted by D.L. Hughley. Most recently, Luda co-starred in the Lionsgate film Gamer (September 2009), joining Gerard Butler for another action thriller.
Theater Of The Mind followed-up Luda’s RIAA platinum Release Therapy of 2006, which debuted at #1 – the same week that its first single, the RIAA platinum “Money Maker” (featuring Pharrell Williams) hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Luda’s next #1 single was “Runaway Love” with Mary J. Blige, which they performed with special guests Earth, Wind & Fire at the 49th annual Grammy Awards worldwide telecast. Release Therapy won the Grammy for Best Rap Album, and “Runaway Love” won Best Collaboration at the BET Awards ’07.
In addition to appearing as both guest host and performer on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, 2006 was a landmark year for Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges. He scored rave reviews for his star appearance in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the show’s highest rated episode ever. His role in the critically acclaimed film, Crash (which opened in 2005) earned him honors in 2006, sharing the SAG Award for Best Ensemble, the Critics Choice Awards for Best Ensemble, and winning him the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporter Actor in A Motion Picture.

PETER GABRIEL new cd Scratch My Back tour dates

Peter Gabriel News

The release of ‘Scratch My Back’ is only nine days away in the UK and Europe (Feb 15th), ten days in Canada (Feb 16th), and because good things come to those who wait, it’s out on March 2nd in the USA.

Tickets and special offers for Peter’s ‘New Blood‘ – ‘Scratch My Back’ live shows with orchestra, no drums and no guitars are now on sale for venues in Germany, France and England. Check our ‘Live‘ page for details of Full Moon Club pre-sales and special access bundles for Canada and The United States of America

With only 7 days to go until the release of ‘Scratch My Back’ on February 15th 2010, details are gradually escaping the studio. We thought we’d open the door a little wider. You can get a taste of the album in Peter’s introductory podcast series. You may have seen the now finalised track-listing and running-order we published in the ‘news’ section – if so, it will be no surprise to read that the album will feature Peter’s recordings of Heroes (David Bowie), The Boy in the Bubble (Paul Simon), Mirrorball (Elbow), Flume (Bon Iver), Listening Wind (Talking Heads), The Power of the Heart (Lou Reed), My Body is a Cage (Arcade Fire), The Book of Love (The Magnetic Fields), I Think it’s Going to Rain Today (Randy Newman), Après Moi (Regina Spektor), Philadelphia (Neil Young) and Street Spirit (Fade Out) (Radiohead).

If you have not been checking the site recently, you might like to get up-to-date with our information on the ‘Scratch My Back’ project with video and writing on the project, plus a 3 part podcast series where Peter introduces each track on the album.

Peter Gabriel’s January Full Moon Club update coincided with the release of the first Double A-side, Digital 45 from the ‘Scratch My Back’ project on iTunes . We hear from Peter about his version of ‘The Book Of Love’, and from the writer of that track, Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields, we hear about his cover of Peter’s ‘Not One Of Us’.

Along the way there is also news of release dates, tour dates and a chance to be part of the project at Real World Remixed, where on a packed full moon, ‘Not One Of Us’ was made available to remixers.

We also get a snippet of ‘Heroes’ from the ‘Scratch’ project

As a taster of things to come ‘Flume’, Peter’s cover of the Bon Iver song on ‘Scratch My Back’ is currently available as a free download.

If at the end of all that, you still need something to fill your ears this weekend, Peter took a moment away from all things ‘Scratch My Back’ to introduce some of the music from Real World Records that’s been filling his ears over the winter months. In his latest podcast he introduces music from from Justin Adams and Juldeh Camara’s ‘Trance Sessions’, Portico Quartet’s ‘Isla’, Spiro’s ‘Lightbox’, Charlie Winston’s ‘Hobo’, The Black Swan Effect, Tom Kerstens’ ‘Utopia’, the upcoming Syriana project and Toumast’s upcoming ‘Amachal’.

Allison Moorer releases Ryko debut Feb 9 2010 and Tour dates

ALLISON MOORER SET TO RELEASE HER “STRIKING” (BOSTON GLOBE) RYKO DEBUT,

CROWS, OUT NEXT WEEK, FEBRUARY 9TH, 2010

Album Release Shows on Feb 8 at Joe’s Pub in NYC and Feb 13 at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, NY
Fantastic reviews are rolling in for Allison Moorer’s upcoming Crows, available Feb 9th, 2010 on Ryko. The Boston Globe calls this 13-track album, produced by R.S. Field (Buddy Guy, John Mayall),  “striking” and says “covering the likes of Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, and Nina Simone on last year’s ‘Mockingbird’ seems to have rubbed off on her.” American Songwriter’s four-star appraisal finds the album “coaxingly lovely in its ministrations,” and “beautiful” simply describes her performance on a recent New York Times popcast.  Internationally, the press also recognizes a certain charm from this Alabama native. BBC claims the new album “finds Moorer hitting her stride and going somewhere special,” while MOJO magazine’s March issue complements her vocal style as “bearing a grave grace and weight-honestly forceful, not showy.”

Meanwhile, her momentum continues to build at radio. The album’s first single, “Broken Girl,” was the #1 most added at Americana radio during its debut week, and is now #9 on the chart. The song was also #3 most added at Triple A/Non- Commercial and is currently at #19. Check out her interview and performance on New York Times Popcast.

“…Moorer delivers a stunning vocal performance, backed by a slow-burning piano and strings arrangement as dramatic as Janis Joplin’s ‘Summertime’… ‘Crows’ is a striking album.” The Boston Globe

“{Crows} Finds Moorer hitting her stride and going somewhere special.” BBC

“The beauty of Moorer’s vocals is intact…” The New Yorker

“…vocals bearing a grave grace and weight – honestly forceful, not showy.” Mojo (UK)

“Crows, with melodies that conjure more than drive, almost pearlescent guitars and lushly narcotic vocal harmonies, offers a core sample of the tides and times of the modern thinking woman.” {4 Stars} – American Songwriter

“…Soft yet lushly piano driven songs… {Crows} fits the fine collection of heartbreak music.” {3.5 stars} Country Weekly

“…a sophisticated pop-flavored outing marked by intricate arrangements and delicate dynamics.” Billboard

Bleeding Through Tour and new album announced

Rise Records and Bleeding Through are pleased to announce “The Spring Breakdown Tour: 2010″. Bleeding Through is one of the most important bands to take the mixture of metal and hardcore to international prominence in the last decade, touring with Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet For My Valentine, AFI, HIM, Cradle Of Filth, Ozzfest, Vans Warped Tour and MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball: The Tour.

Currently on a European tour supporting Machine Head, Bleeding Through commence the new decade with a US headlining tour in support of their upcoming release which is in stores April 13th. Their ominously self-titled new album, their first for Rise Records, is the perfect distillation of their past with a solid look forward to the future: dark, aggressive, full of rage and sorrow. Look for Bleeding Through, Born of Osiris, Sleeping Giant, Oceano and fellow Rise supporting band Legend at your favorite venue this spring! Bleeding Through also posted a new song from the album called, “Anti-Hero” on their MySpace page which features their new album artwork and exclusive pre-order bundle packages.
